Soundcraft are missing a trick marketing this primarily as a stage mixer. I've been using this for years as my main studio mixer with amazing results. I'm mixing hardware synths and a couple of acoustic instruments it has an ability to mix many overlapping signals while keeping definition and space where other mixers get muddy. I love it.
This last weekend was the first time I multi tracked out to a daw. I love it and will be using it that way a lot going forward. You are correct, it is a super power full tool that is versatile in many aspects live or studio. I also like the headroom on the preamps on the mixer. Most of the time live I have it at capacity and pushing hard, but it handles beautifully every time. Despite some of the short comings with the little glitches I have encountered along the way all in all its awesome for the bulk of what I do for now. TBC for sure.
Thanks for chiming in. It is always fun finding out new ways to use a piece of gear, and bending its capabilities to you will. Keep after it and tag me in a post I'd love to hear some of your results.
I've had my UI24R for about 3yrs now, done quite a few major gigs with big bands and used only the tip of the iceberg with this thing. It's incredibly powerful and I'm now using 4x powered line-arrays per side learning to use Matrix and stereo'ng to control and set delays on the different speaks for big venues. It's truly rediculous what can be done with this. Just tip, ether/Lan for main desk control and Wi-Fi plus extender router for IEM of muzo's.
A dedicated router has been clutch indeed. The bigger the venue the greater the infrastructure for sure. I was a x32 or Midas 32 for a long time, but budget constraints have dictated the ui24. Im super happy with the results, I can get in a live recording or a studio recording easily. Both applications the UI24 can handle with ease.
I can't know everything, so can you tell me what you mean by "IEM of muzo's @andrestrydom3065 I'm not familiar with that term. It really helps that I have so many pros that tune into the channel. I learn so much from my subscribers, so thanks for the knowledge drops. Y'all are great at commenting too, it means a lot to us involved with making the videos possible. Thanks so much for your take on this subject it helps move the conversation forward.
can you create and save a different profile on the UI 24 mixer?
Indeed you can. I’ll try and rock a short explaining it in the next few days. Sorry for non timely reply I have been busy building a rack for an acoustic duo. I chose to use the ui16 for that build but they function the same as far as the saving of profiles. So I’ll grab a screen record of the process and post as soon as I can.
Thanks for the question and hit me whenever. I’m all about making everyone better at honing their skills. With a little time and technology there are no longer limitations on what can be achieved.

Soundcraft UI24r sound great, but the reverbs sucks...
To each their own. I’ve always liked the lexicon reverbs. Just need to dial them in a bit more than some. Side note the new standard seems to be UI Audio. What does everyone else think? What’s your favorite digital reverb and why?
@@gearly_beloved I like lexicon reverb, I have a few lexicon reverb processors for my analog mixers, but I'm not to fond of the lexicon hall reverb they got in the UI24r.. and I also like they're plate reverb better for vocals...
@@crosbyllc5426 plate is my go to for vocals. In most situations I’ve been in the client just didn’t understand what a plate really was and how to use dampers. But once they heard the difference they are usually on board with the plate!!
