UNREAL MetaHuman Android or Webcam Face Recognition (non-free Live Link Alternative) Tutorial

  • Unreal Tutorial for people do not want to use iPhone(IOS) and the Live Link as an alternative. This method will works on Android, PC and pre-recorded video (media option)
    During the trial, it is free, so everyone should be able to test it out.
    However, there is a price tag on the software after the free trial.

    Is there a way to make corrective shapes to the lips? It doesn't seem to do well with "ooo" "w" and sometimes "p" "b". The lip pucker doesn't do much to help.

    there are some changes since this video. you can get an indie license for 15/mo, $179/year which is much more feasible, and the plugin is free.

    Great man!You win a sub.But when you created the faceware live2 animation blueprint,next to this icon,on the left, there is faceware live single icon.In ny project there is't.What did i wrong?Can you help me?

    great tutorial thanks. What if I want to record a face animation and use it on metahuman ? Is it possible ? How can a record the animation ? (not movie, the animation itself)

    Great stuff, very helpful andthanks for sharing. As an improvement, i would highly recommend uploading a 60fps video that would greatly show the quality and fluidity of the mocap animations.

      Good point! In fact I either need a better computer or I need to seperate the PC for the screen capture. Unreal and metahuman plus other software plus screen capture was just too heavy for my PC 😆

    I can't get the shape points in the animation blueprints, it says "array of faceware live component object references is not compatible with faceware live component object reference" pls help :c

    Thanks for the workaround. It annoys me sometimes that android is excluded from great software like UE and Cubase. I will use this free trial for my video

    so technically...if I buy those plugins for month...then made my app, publish it to app/play store...then it will work infinietly if I won't have to update ?

      I could be wrong, but I think it is similar like Photoshop, after you create the picture, you can use in your game. In this case, after you capture and record your face with the motion data, you can use in your game :) of course if there is any sort of their sdk you put in your game could be the other story.     I have IPhone 7 , Live link doesn’t work , gotta be 12 and up .
    My solution would have to be desktop.

      Yes it could!
      But you probably need to map the blendshapes :)

      Hi there,
      This should works with all metahuman unreal character and to those charscter with the proper blendshape that you can map with.
      Hope this helps a bit 😃
