  • Pilot Chris McGee told Sky's Sarah Jane Mee that whilst turbulence is common, turbulence as extreme as this is "phenomenally rare".
He said disruption like that experienced on the London-Singapore flight was "unprecedented", and that passengers should not be overly concerned about this happening on a flight, but should wear their seatbelts.

Whenever l get off a flight to India, it looks more of a state than that flight. The plane looks like everyone filled their flight bag with rubbish and emptied it out on the floor. All 300 of them. An absolute disgrace.

This terrible turbulence is common over Bay of Bengal area. Pilots usually track around storms etc. Clear air turb is the worst.

For the record: what we know for sure at this point is that this aircraft suddenly lost altitude, which caused damage and injury. "Severe turbulence" hasn`t been confirmed by any aviation authority as of now, it`s just a media narrative. The plane dropped suddenly. We don`t know WHY it dropped. What COULD have happened is not the same as what HAS happened.

A woman that has never experienced an event like this giving an opinion..
I have experienced it, twice, and in both events the interior of the plane was wrecked, and the planes involved did not fly again for many weeks, full structural inspection.
It is more common than explained here, and it is going to get worse due to freak weather conditions..

Where does the term, "out of the blue" come from? Maybe an old Farmer's saying? Farmers are the down to earth folks who know more about nature and its unexplained activities than the scientists who sometimes invent lies to suit the narrative. The element of uncertainty is a factor in life. Scientists can show these days , the prediction of weather through charts and educated guessing but concentrating on fear is unfounded. All we want is some Heinie pumping up the fear associated with climate change that has always happened but works for a political end. Just like our global "truckies", our fearless ambassadors to life, didn't allow tyranny to completely submerge us. Which Pope said that famous phrase, there is nothing to fear but fear itself.
Roosevelt stated in his first inaugural address that "we have nothing to fear but fear itself." His objectives were to calm the economic fears of Americans, develop policies to alleviate the problems of the Great Depression, and gain the support of the American people for his programs.
DO NOT forget the past. It has more applications to present day than millennials are willing to admit.
