You are all saying he’s manipulative or psycho, but when you love someone so much and they don’t feel the same way, the healthy thing to do is cut it off. You could see by the way she switched from apathetic to wanting to give it another go that she saw him as weak and in love with her for 7 years, prime target for an abuser.

Actually, I believe sometimes we realize that what we thought we had was something else. In the early part of a relationship, our minds are clouded over by our romantic feelings and it is impossible to be objective. He needed the time and distance to see her for what she really is, and it just wasn't for him.
