hi. thank you for the very informative video. I also had trouble with vacuum. is piercing a bigger hole through the little circular "airvent" above the spring outlet of the empty/used ultraphase cartridges do the trick? also, how much volume does the rinse use? I have marked before and after and it only moved down by 2 cm or so....is that normal? and thirdly, when I move that same rinsing cartridge along to rinse phase 2 side, it tells me that there is an insufficient amount of detergent? when all it needs is about "2 cm" of water? your response will be sooo handy. thanks in advance.
@@1hoak I have this problem as well. Constant error saying insufficient detergent.. it's soooo annoying! I am started to use the twindos test program in the service menu to flush the system. It doesn't give errors there.
@@mieleguy1600 yay! I was able to get into service mode. and I am so excited I am able to rinse the phas2 as I type. how long do you let yours rinse through?
Hi, I'm wanting to put detergent into Tank 1 and Fabric Conditioner into Tank 2 but how would I do a wash using tank 1 only, like for towels which I don't want conditioner in?
Hi, Ive got an issue with temperature sensor - twin dos wont work over 30' using the main dispenser up top works - Can I use Miele 1/2 cartridges by emptying and using up top please- Ive been trying to find out
After switching from Miele ultraphase to my detergent and conditioner I don't see levels in the conteiners anymore displayed on machine or via Miele app. Do my washing machine will alert me when the containers are empty or I need to check them manualy every time when they go almost empty?
Is there any way to clean a Twin dose that has not been used for over a year and has not been cleaned? I try hot water but it doesn't help 😖 please give me some idea 🙏🏼
Hot water will not work as the system will throw up a error then. If the hoses are clogged, the only solution is to open the machine, remove the TwinDos system and clean the hoses manually with a brush.
I live in a different country (Australia) and I am not sure what to use in container 2? We do not have the brand you show in the video. Any help appreciated.
Thank you for this great video. I'm also thinking about buying a Miele like this but I have the feeling that I will not use Twin Dos so often.OK,I know I can use my own liquid detergent and conditioner with the dispensers but does it really worth buying it? Or has it any features the other Mieles do not have? I know Miele is a "long -lasting beast" but it is also said that the more a machine can do the more it must be repaired.Or it is exeptional with Miele? :)
hey! my family gas had Miele twin dos for i think 6/7 yrs now. Never had a repair, although i should mention that we weren't using the twin dos system. But im now interested to see the full potential. I read that the twin dos calculates how much liquid it needs according to the hardness of water and more so it can save some detergent. I think the machine is good for everyday use and ill see how quickly i can figure all the good stuff about it and i think it will work even better! ( i know im a year late:) and sorry if my english is broken:D)
Sadly in USA you can only use UltraPhase. Not only because the refill containers are not available in USA but also because there is no option to select any other detergent than UltraPhase in the settings on the machine.
yes you can use your own detergents. just drill a tiny hole and refill using a funnel. or you can push a chopstick into the bottle and pour your own deterrent that way but it’s too cumbersome. drilling a similar size hole on the side of the bottle is what i did. bottle on left i refill with Tide and bottle on the right i refill with oxiclean revive white liquid. the bottle is inserted flat, make sure you drill hole on side that is NOT touching the ground (mimicking as the video where the yellow cap is on the side not touching the floor)
@@mieleguy1600 it makes the noise but no water is taken from the container. I tried hot water but seems to be well clogged. This is the first time I do this ever since I bought my machine. I've had it for almost 5 to 6 years. Never crossed my mind to clean it. Lately noticed nothing was being drained from the containers so I looked up your video. I tried several times the rinse but only the second compartment empties. First one stays intact. By vacuum what do you mean? Thank you for responding.
@@randomgecko452 by vacuum I mean that there is no air in the dispenser. If there is no air in the dispenser, the machine can't dispense detergent. It really sounds like the hose is clogged.. in this case you need to remove the front panel and remove the hose and clean it manually with a brush or something. Then you should be good to go. I recommend to clean the system everytime you put a new, full dispenser in it.
Good question. I have no idea. The user manual and the machine doesn't say anything about this. I just have to set a dosage, do a wash and adjust it again if the results are not good enough..
@@mieleguy1600 I see. I saw on other videos that the users were setting the dosage according to the max kg of their washer. So, it's probably like that. Nice video, btw.
I searched the net for an answer and found one document which indicates it needs to be set the the standard value of 4.5kg load. That would mean we are all overdosing when we set it up for 9kg. But a clear statement from Miele would be much appreciated here.
miele detergents for phase 1 and 2 have a specific density, the commercial liquid detergents have thicker density, which will cause in the future build up in the twindos system with the end result clogged pipes. When you buy a high end product, you have to follow the recommendations of the company, buying appliance from the best and most expensive appliance company in the world and use inferior products, will only cause problems.
Excellent! It's great to see how one can use non-meile detergent. I need to get a new machine as the 2011 Miele washer goes with the house sale.
Thanks a lot! Was not clear from manual that you have to fill it with water. And as you pointed out, fill it all the way!
Meanwhile US peeps are stuck to Miele's detergent and cleaning agents still. I soooooo want Miele to bring these refillable bottles over here already!
I tried to find them somewhere online to import with no luck. I even tried ebay for international sellers
Very, very useful dude. Thank you !

good video . But the second cartridge is not for the conditioner. Better vanish or equivalent (no chlorine)
What can I put in the second container?
The left cover is for the drain pump filter

Too bad Miele doesn't let you use your own products in the USA version of the W1.
they only released the W1 recently so it could possibly come up in future promotions/updates

Could be many reasons. Do you hear the pump running? Is the hose clogged? Has the container in compartment 1 got vacuum?

You can cut open the old container or buy TwinDos Care at Miele Shop.
Just press down the top of the spring loaded filler mechanism (I use a screwdriver) and fill with water from the tap…..
Aren't the both supposed to be dosed according to the max kg?

The Coral fabric optimiser that he is putting into the container is a detergent not a conditioner

Totally unnecessary. Just poor detergent of your own choice right in the spots and wash the clothes.
