People can't stop talking about GSP because he's the exact opposite of everything we're used to seeing in real life. We're surrounded by corrupt politicians and corporations consistently doing bad things. Every day we see bad guys win, and even though Disney movies raised us to believe the good guys always win, reality shows us differently. But GSP is that Disney fairy-tale - that kind-hearted "nerd" who protects us from bullies. He's the good guy who wins, and he always did it with class and grace. He'll forever be a fan-favorite and rightfully so.
He's the GOAT. Tied for record title defenses (13). Finished career going up in weight and winning second title against a Hall of Famer. Retired on epic win streak. Never used steroids to do it unlike Jon Jones or Anderson Silva.
Want to know how good GSP is? He's a shy, hyper-intelligent nerd with a horrific kaybek accent, still is uncomfortable speaking english, refuses/disinterested in self-promotion, hates being in the cage and having to hurt people (but loves the training), and still he's just so damned good at fighting that he was the biggest draw of his time, and we are all still talking about him. Wanting one more fight. He's famous despite himself, his wackadoodle excellence of hitting people really hard until they can't get up. It's amazing.
alright brother. If you can't infer from the rest of my message that I might have made a choice, try it for yourself. If you say Quebec like a standard english speaker, it'll come out as kwibek. If you say it like a francophone, it'll come out as kaybek. well. approximately. Which is what I wanted to have in the reader's mind. Much like you put a couple extra 'u's in sure to have it dragged out like a cunty 14 year old rolling her eyes. I'll give you the credit for that choice, because I'm smart enough not to be an asshole ... all of the time.
Well, we do appreciate a polite offer to wrestle a pig. I'm wholly uncertain how to parse distain (begrime, befoul) in that sentence. Might have meant disdain (scorn, contempt)? But that still doesn't make sense. Hmm. Try again, good sir.
Exactly this. GSP is the good guy who put in all of the work to become the greatest. Good guys usually lack a killer instinct. People even used to say George didn't have that until he turned Koscheck into something from a horror movie.
I'll tell you something about GSP. He gives cash to every pan handler he comes across here in Montreal. And we are not talking a couple bucks or a fiver here . He gives hundred dollar bills and fifties regularly. He even gave the entire content of his wallet to the bully who use to beat him up in school when he saw him begging for money. Word on the street is that he will give to anyone who asks, on the condition that they tell him a joke first. Real story.
I live in the mount royal burrough. Lived here for 25yrs. Georges often goes to a popular restaurant near my house called "La Banquise" after the clubs close at 3am. Everyone knows him around here. He speaks to everyone (especially then when he's had a few lol) you'd never guess he's rich and famous. Btw there is a photo of him in the joint on the wall of him eating side by side with the crustiest homeless dude you can imagine. He invited the man in ... most would have left it at that but he invited him to his table and ate with him while asking him about his life. I know everyone here. After a while you get to know all the faces on the streets and talk to a few of them. There's always one begging in front of the place. I know he spoke about the bully encounter on Rogan. But he did mention the bit about emptying his wallet in another interview. On that second one he downplayed it and said that the exact amount didn't matter...
If you don't have "came out of retirement, went UP a weight class, and strangled the Champion of that weight class" on your resume, call me when you do.

born free Conor has never cut “massive” weight. He walks around at 165. His biggest weight cuts were 20lbs. Which is a fraction of what some fighters cut. GSP will never fight again, because Dana White got butthurt both time he stepped away from the sport. When GSP fought juicehead Johny Hendricks, Dana was so eagerd to tell everybody that he thought GSP lost that fight, and tryed to stop him from doing post fight press conference. Everyone wants to say that they defeated GSP. Two things: he is retired and it's been a long time since his prime. All those fighters should call out Usman, and Usman should be defending his title instead of looking to fight someone retired, GOAT or not, father time doesn't care.
Chael, that's twice now you've referenced Toronto while speaking about Georges. George St.Pierre is from a small town just outside of Montreal. He lives and trains in Montreal. Sorry, I just wanted to let you know. Cheers.
Given the timing of things the right fight is GSP vs McGregor in May. The winner fights the winner of Khabib/Tony in late 2020. Chael please get this across to Uncle Fester. Great vid btw
Just to break the discussion a little. That background is driving me crazy. Is it a non right angle between two walls using different woods? Is it an exit on the right side being the background or is it the left? I think I know but cant stop looking at it...
The hallway is to the right - beyond his left shoulder. I'd guess there's an elevator to the left - a few steps down from his right. And any minute now - Fedor will be exiting that elevator and making Chael turtle-up again.

Thaaats the way the news goes..
Uncle Chael...When did GSP move from Montreal to Toronto?
he's not only a star (especially in canada) but also the mma goat
a win over him gets anyone insane hype
Back in the day i used to fight at 170 mma here and ther before it was legal in ohio and p.a. and i watched gsp every move.. Studied it learned from it..designed my fight patterns on what he did . And you know what happened? I still sucked long live the king!
Isn't it weird because he's retired, and almost 40? It just looks like a callout with no ammunition
What about Conor vs porier. Why is that not being mentioned. There’s history there and I’d pay to see that
UNCLE CHAEL, CAN YOU TELL ME WHO WOULD WIN BETWEEN JON JONES VS GSP?
I’ve not heard anyone mentioning wanting to fight gsp for a while now
The mind game in Quebec is top shelf
Well said like always
Everyone wants to say that they defeated GSP.
Two things: he is retired and it's been a long time since his prime.
All those fighters should call out Usman, and Usman should be defending his title instead of looking to fight someone retired, GOAT or not, father time doesn't care.
Never stop talking about the GOAT
becuase hes the GOAT, hes been out the game and getting on in years
Because he is undoubtedly the GOAT of mma right now and anybody who beats him automatically put into GOAT conversation.
GPS is from Montreal Quebec, not Toronto Ontario.
Chael, that's twice now you've referenced Toronto while speaking about Georges. George St.Pierre is from a small town just outside of Montreal. He lives and trains in Montreal. Sorry, I just wanted to let you know. Cheers.
He's the goat. That's why. You beat the goat you put yourself in goat contention
GSP is in Montreal. He will always be here
It's not Toronto. It's Montreal Chael. Nice point and video. I personally would love to see Khabib vs. GSP if Khabib wins his fight Tony.
Given the timing of things the right fight is GSP vs McGregor in May. The winner fights the winner of Khabib/Tony in late 2020. Chael please get this across to Uncle Fester. Great vid btw
I miss the uncle chael intro songs. Also GSP is the reason most of us wanted to get Kanji tattoos and rock a gi to look like the total badass GSP is.
They know who the true 🐐 is
Fan question video plz! I hope you pick mine!
Sheal really respect GSP!! That's cool!!
It's a testament to the drawing power of George tbh. And hes the measuring stick for a lot of people
He’s in Montreal not Toronto. Canada is bigger than just one city yah know!
Just to break the discussion a little. That background is driving me crazy. Is it a non right angle between two walls using different woods? Is it an exit on the right side being the background or is it the left? I think I know but cant stop looking at it...
My guess is that he's at a corner of a lobby - where the hallway starts.
@@SelectCircle but... but... AT WHAT SIDE!? ;)
The hallway is to the right - beyond his left shoulder.
I'd guess there's an elevator to the left - a few steps down from his right.
And any minute now - Fedor will be exiting that elevator and making Chael turtle-up again.
