just did this replacement today with the exact same parts and it worked wunderfull, also quality is really good for the price. Thanks a lot for the install video.
What speakers do you instal in the door and at the back side? What dimensiions and what power? I am talking about Mercedes W124. I'm totaly lost. Please help! :)
Hi MM, yes I did notice the beige trim! Those old speakers looked OK, do they just wear out over the decades? Why was it felt they needed replacing, just poor sound?
"I installed this pair today in the wagon. I've had the other pair in the coupe for a while now. They sound much better. Clearer. The original ones in the wagon have been damn good really, excellent midrange but obviously lacking clear highs"
Just put them in a few minutes ago. I have to say I quite like how they sound. Btw can anyone help me out with how to put speakers in the rear of a '91 124 saloon that didnt have factory rear speakers. And also how to wire them. Id like to put the ESX in there too
How's the sound on these bad boys? I purchased a pair (still waiting for them to be shipped sinceit's the christmas period) but can't find any revoew of 'em. I watched a few videos of you where you test tje radio / CD player but on video you can't really make something up.
@@ronnevh2788 I recently purchased them and installed them. At first it wasn't that great when they were linked to my 80's (period correct) headunit and blamed it on that. Than I switched out my headunit for a Mercedes Audio 10 (from the w202 and w210) and this is just great! If you ask me, you could compare to a stock VW Golf 6. Not 'wow' but they are a very nice hearable upgrade!
@@cooleloekie mine radio only makes 40watts per channel, so is it worth it? or should i get small amp. Did you have amp or just plugged with the radio. Are these worth it?
Depends what your definition of better quality is. My setup with the 4 speakers produces no base what so ever, its all mids and highs. With speakers this size you really need a subwoofer too.
The whole lot came as a kit from a seller in germany on eBay. I'm not sure where to buy them but you could make your own leads by salvaging some original speakers from a junk yard.
Thanks, @@MMWA-DAVE, my W124 is a TE300, so the back speakers are in the doors. I think I will just move the front speakers to the back as they are still ok, and put new ones only in the dash.
Hi, we got 3 complete sets in from germany for our 3 w124's they came as complete sets such as in eBay item number 184041027179. It's best to group order like we did or the postage is uneconomical (provided the seller gives a discount for multiple items) I don't think there are any dealers in Australia.
A little bit of explaining every step you did would of been great . You could of mention to start by lifting the strip of plastic and that there are two screws to be removed 1st one is way in the back second one is and so on and so on
+1 .. The OEM w124 dashboard 4inch speaker is crap. Small voice coil, Shallow excursion, Wizzer cone H.F. component, paper cone material easily breaks up audibly. Cheap, cheap.
The eagle eyed observer may notice that these are not my hands or my car - I cannot be in 2 places at once, where oh where was I today?
no its a m103, presumably that wagon.
@@alexander70356 someone that spends as much time as you at or near the red line would of noticed this immediately ;)
of course I did

How come you put these 12cm speakers in the front?
Aint the front speakers 10 cm and 12 cm for in the back?
What size the speaker is?
Hi, i wonder if a 5.25 speaker would fit without much effort?
how inch original speaker

Just saw your comment, did you put the speakers in the back? I have a sedan 92 124 and it doesnt have the rear speakers either.
Where i can get those and do they need amplifier.

why buy the adaptor harness? why not just use the original wire/plug from the beckers?
on my own cars, this is exactly what i did. These ones that came with the speaker kits are cheap shyte.
@@MMWA-DAVE right on, thx

haha, fortunately these are not my hands and was someone else doing the job
Hi what is the size of the apeaker
👍👍👍
How good are these speakers 🙄 thinking on buying without breaking the budget 😳
theyre ok i guess. Produce no bass what so ever so if you want bass you need a sub.
@@MMWA-DAVE Thanks very much for your reply. Your videos are very educational. You pay great attention to detail 👏🤝
Interesting that you have 6 ohm speakers on both sides. Most cars have 6ohm driver, 4 ohm passenger

have anyone measured hole diameter?in cm...
Can any one tell me, will these fit a W124 1988 per facelift model? Everything looks the same, but can anyone confirm? Thanks
at a glance the dash looks the same on the pre facelift cars. I can’t remember what the rears look like though. Hopefully someone else knows
