    I don't think you mentioned the Buddy Kick has disc brakes front and rear. I was looking into buying one awhile back, and that was one of the features besides EFI that I wanted. I ended up buying a Buddy 170i.

    Do you know how fast this scooter goes? Like is it suitable for highway driving? I saw the video of the Vespa drive to sugar pine - Could the Buddy Kick 125 handle that ride?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 3 lety +2

      The Kick will top out around 55mph on flat ground. It could definitely do that same Sugarpine ride. And thank you, now I want Sugarpine! 😆

      Anything less than 150cc on highway is illegal but many people still go on with a 125cc

  • @blahblah7661

    Do you need your liscence when you purchase one or can you get that after the purchase

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 3 lety

      You can purchase a scooter with just a state-issued identification card or driver's license. Where you risk a ticket is if you operate it on the road and are caught while doing so without a license, or the proper motorcycle endorsement on your license for anything above the 50cc engine size.

    Do you still recommend the Buddy scooter 125. The seller says it needs a carburetor, my mechanic says it's fishy, it only has 90 miles mileage. What do you think?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 2 lety

      It’s a fine scooter if you’re going to ride it often. Carbureted scooters shouldn’t sit for long periods of time. Can’t comment on that particular bike but your mechanic is probably worth listening to. Good luck!

    • @98katman
      @98katman Před 2 lety

      Carburetor needs to be disassembled and cleaned. Fuel tank and lines flushed as well.

    What are the bikes in the back right next to the buddy?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 3 lety +1

      Directly behind the Buddy Kick in the thumbnail? Those are the Buddy 50cc scooters. They are a blast to ride.

    Are there other scooters with shorter seat heights, beside kiddie ones? I sat on this one and I liked the height but was wondering if there is a scooter out there with a shorter seat height.

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 2 lety

      Unfortunately not many, especially in the higher engine displacements. The Kick is probably your best bet.

    Does anyone know the under seat spec, how many liters? 🤔 That looks so nice and spacious!

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Can’t find anything about the liters but I can tell you that it is 15 inches long 1 foot wide at its widest point, 6 1/2 inches wide at it’s narrow point and about 8 1/2 to 9 inches deep.

    I don't like that gas fill placement. It really does belong where a drop or two of gas isn't going to land in your glovebox.

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 2 lety +2

      That’s a good point! Some people like it because they don’t have to get off the scooter at all. They can just watch the pump, put one gallon in and then have no worry of a spill before riding out of there. Thanks for watching!

      @@VespaPortland . Thanks....Quick follow up is there noticeable difference between the Buddy 150 vs Buddy Kick?

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 2 lety

      At this point the buddy 150 is no longer manufactured new. If you find a used one, assuming the person maintained it properly, it’s probably going to feel pretty similar. The 25cc gap in engine displacement isn’t very large. Of course a new scooter would feel tighter and a little more snappy in acceleration in general. Good luck!

    Nice bike but overpriced. For only a few hundred dollars more you can have a Yamaha Zuma 125 which is much better.

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 3 lety +5

      Much better is a bit subjective. The Buddy Kick is a great choice for shorter riders who can't fit on a Yamaha Zuma. Anyway, thanks for watching.

    • @VespaPortland
      @VespaPortland  Před 3 lety +1

      A Buddy Kick 125 MSRP is $3199. Other freight and setup fees, local taxes, and DMV will vary by state and county.

    • @roamereasy9737
      @roamereasy9737 Před 3 lety +1

      Zuma has narrower leg room.

    • @roamereasy9737

      Meanwhile, Yamaha scooters used to have some bugs that costing owners to repair. On the other hands, PGO's Buddy Kick has much fewer problems than Yamaha in Taiwan with 20+ million scooters.
