I'm not Muslim and I don't speak Arabic, so in one sense I don't understand this, and yet in another sense, anyone who has a prayer practice or meditation practice will understand this perfectly. Thank you, I needed that!

@joannebaek4551 The closest you are to your Creator is in Sajood (prostration) when forehead touches the ground. Pour your heart out and let the tears fall... or even concentrating on a deeply grateful incident in your life. This is when you actually feel your soul because the soul is not of this earthly realm, you can train your soul to reconnect to the Creator during these prayers.
I pray dear sister Joanne you experience this in life. In Arabic we call this state khushooa (roughly translated to 'sweetness of faith'). The purpose of life is to Worship Him who created us.

This would be the kindest sweetest reply to a comment I've ever had. Thank you so much for this gift of greater understanding, invitation to practice /prayer in better understanding, feeling, openness. I also went back to the video short itself and looked up translations of the words/phrases I do not know, to expand my understanding beyond the part I understood from the video (which was basically: slow down, stop, arrive, settle, calm first... deepen) .
And let's see if I can find words for the next part I want to say... Thank you for introducing me to prayer in Sajood, both the tears and the gratitude, or sharing of sorrows as well as happiness, because sorrows for others right now is enormous right now and the prayers for help, but to only dwell on the sorrows is definitely not enough, and I didn't get a larger sense of connection between things before or the need for both, at least when there is sorrow. Even the sorrows and tears suggest things to be deeply grateful for, like right now every time an aid truck gets through to Gaza and people get food, for the ICJ and South Africa, and for France and Jordan working together to airdrop food to northern Gaza, and so forth.
And lastly, I am very grateful for the phrase "sweetness of faith," and your kindness in wishing that for me and in offering me better understanding for getting there. I have a little experience of this state, but with words for it, and your little gentle nudges on Sajood, ...I think you have given me some additional joy and clarity for prayer.
Thank you so very much! @@piccadilly171

@@joannebaek4551 You are very welcome dearest sister. I sensed you were deeply spiritual from your observations of how much worship of the Creator benefits the human condition. Try to communicate with our Lord in sajood to experience more kushooa and also, if you can manage it wake up before dawn and perform worship & supplications at this time. The Palestinian plight is the impetus for developing that concentration in prayer.
I often think our own words are completely inadequate to worship the Creator by and feel utterly grateful that He revealed Surah Al Fatiha (first Surah of the Quran) that is obligatory for Muslims/believers to recite in their salaah/prayer. The Arabic recitation with deep concentration, engaging your heart ...is incredible to taste kushooa. It's like the whole universe stops in mid-stride to listen. I hope you can find videos of it being recited here on CZcams and also look up the exegesis of it.
May your days be blessed dear sister Joanne. May you attain that incredible attachment to your Maker where healing tears just shed because your soul is overcome. Ameen
      -Aisha

      May Allah guide us all
Our creator loves us and we love him
And those who obey him will for ever have calmness and perfect satisfaction and happiness
The prayer isn’t good because it’s similar to meditation but it’s good because we are closer to ALLAH
May Allah guide you Insha’Allah 👍

    • @taliaha8053
      @taliaha8053 Před 5 měsíci +2

@@zakiasultana157 It is just a unit in prayer that consists in a nutshell, the positions of standing upright, bowing, then going down to the floor with your head on the prayer rug then upright. This is one rakat. Depending on which prayer you are doing it could be 2, 3, or 4 rakats

A few tips from my side too that helped me alot.
1- See the translation of each n every Arabic word u recite during Salah in your mother tongue. The taste of Salah would increase 100 folds if u know what u are saying to Allah and how u are praising Him.
2- Try to read Quran or atleast those surahs that u often recite during Salah with TAJWEED. It would increase the taste of your recitation.
3- Do wudoo properly, wear clean clothes and try praying in solitude where the environment is relatively calm and none would to there to disturb you for 10-15 mins of Salah(i.e, when u come home to offer sunnat n nawafil after offering Farz namaz in masjid).
4- Take more lectures, watch more videos, gain knowledge about salah n how our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W used to pray.
5- Post-namaz azkaar are very imp. too.
I have alot to say but i think the msg would exceed.

Since March 2019 my brother-in-law has asked my sister to spend more time in rukku and sajdah to make quality prayer... I have been trying it every time and you feel you want to spend more and more time with Allah SWT.. It's amazing.... By the end of prayer you'll find out nothing is left to talk about to people... It's the only peace you're left with.
Allhamdullila,,,,,, subhanallah... May Allah SWT bless us, accept our prayers and guide us to pray more honestly. Ameen summa ameen.

What helps me is I look at it as having a conversation with Allah. Which we technically are. Salah comes from or related to the word “silah” which translates to “connection”. The full saying is “Al salatu Al silatu billah” translates to “praying is connecting with Allah”. It helps to understand what you’re saying in salah, also. This made the salah even more enjoyable for me.
