  • Hi Guys,
Well I haven't sprinted out of the blocks for 2022, but finally I have finished the diorama base and display stand for the Rorke's Drift (Zulu Movie) diorama.
I hope you enjoy, thanks for watching.
    Cheers
    Glen

You can never have too many clamps : )

Brilliant dio base and stand. There is definitely a speaker going into the display base. Informative step by step build. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.

Glen, I think Stanley Baler nd Michael Caine would be very pleased with your effort. Mealie bags notwithstanding, I'm glad you enjoyed this project. I certainly did.

Great work on that diorama base, as always. I suspect the holes mean there'll be sound included, which would be good.
I didn't notice the subliminal product placement but as I also have a similar battery airbrush it wouldn't have worked on me anyway. I find mine gets a little uncomfortable if I use it one-handed, but it is a very handy bit of kit.
My current project was intended to simply make a base for a steam locomotive but it's grown a little since I started and is now three feet by two feet and I need to make a metal support frame for it. Nobody wants a saggy bottom!

Thanks Ian, I haven't used the airbrush enough just yet to do a full product review so I haven't experienced the discomfort of it as yet, but I will be giving it a working over now on a few other projects. That's one big ass diorama mate, when you move to metal supports its time to get help 😱

@@HalidonDioramas My diorama grew from just a bit of track for the loco to sit on, but I added a couple of carriages, then a station, then the station forecourt, then a road beyond the forecourt, then some shops along the road. It's less a diorama than an extract of a model village now, with well over 100 figures. I'm just glad I stopped expanding it before I got the idea of including working streetlights!

Fantastic work Glen that as come together beautifully those sandbags came out brilliantly well worth all that effort. I reckon your having some sound effects in the base hence the holes. Cant wait to see it with all the figures and bits and bobs on great work my friend

Thanks Duke, much appreciated. I learnt a couple of things from the resin failure, still keen to see if I can make it work, will try again in the future 😀

Hey buddy, brilliant- drilling a speaker by any chance? I don’t think you had enough clamps :) great job. 👍🏼

    At long last!
You drilling all them holes for a means of making a fire effect or just an air screen to allow cooling of whatever electric equipment you might be hiding under there...?
My personal idea would be as cover for the speaker/sound box so we can all hear "Men of Harlech" (the words of which were changed for the movie)
Full quote "Because we're here, lad. There's no one else"

Hi Nicolai, just the speaker, not smart enough to do air cooling system mate 😁
