If you've ever seen what happens if you 'quick release by taking the weights off, we sprayed Beef Stew ALL over the ceiling, cupboards, walls, inside the light fixtures and us. I was 14 when it happened in OUR house, and it's a Beef Stew I never forgot lol. Frozen Chicken from freezer to table in less than an hour & a half is nothing to be sneezed at!

Hi y'all, I've had my InstaPot for well over 2+ years... we moved into an RV while we gutted our 2700 sq ft home and remodeled before selling and moving. The RV was less than 200 sq ft and I had just an InstaPot, tea kettle, small baking dish and a cast iron skillet... I typically fed 6-10 people daily... 1st I've never had to have the same steam release time as cooking time, I've released it early and never had a tough roast, chicken, lamb, pork or even buffalo & deer meat... all from frozen to the IP.
It browns [even make skin crispy] braised, simmers, poaches, steams, and slow cooks etc... I make chicken and dumplings often in winter [all 2 weeks of it in Texas 😉😂🙃] and I use it loads as I have celiac disease and have to be gluten free... I use "glucie" or Glucomannan powder to thicken my "Stupes" same as soup however full of meats... so my hubbie calls them Stupes...
I followed the Trim Healthy Momma way of eating as so many of the Mommas had to have no gluten as well... it's mostly low carb or keto type cooking... I love my IP so much I purchased a 3rd one the small one for my MIL whom I take care of in West Texas... when its just her and I , I can cook up wonderful healthy meals and she loves then.
Just wanted to jump on and let y'all know of some of my cooking with it... blessings

I'm all for saving both time and energy! I have been using pressure cookers my entire life. I love the electric ones because I don't have to babysit the pressure jiggler. Making non frozen food is much quicker. But if you forgot to defrost, you have the option of taking out the giblet bag and prepping it so a frozen meat is ready to drop in. A frozen one cools off the water so it doesn't come up to pressure as fast.

I have a small one and love to do long grain rice in it. Turns out great. Rinse the rice well beforehand till the water runs clear. It is a 1 to 1 ratio so 1 cup of rice to 1 cup of water add a little butter or olive oil we go 6 minutes on high pressure a natural release. Perfect rice every time. Brown rice takes a little longer. The Trick is the rinse it off beforehand prevents it from becoming sticky rice. Great to use the next day for fried rice.

I made my first frozen whole chicken in my IP and I was completely gobsmacked! The meat was both tender and juicy, a definite game changer. Some of it I used to make chicken and wild rice soup. Some time ago, I was watching an episode of Epicurious that has the home chef vs the home chef. This particular episode showed how to make chicken skin cracklings. I've been hooked ever since but I destroyed our Blackstone electric grill 😮 This time I made them in the oven on a broiler pan which worked perfectly.
I was really hoping to find the Seeds of Change seasoning that you showed but my Walmart didn't carry it. All that I could find were Seeds of Change rice mixes. Any suggestions?

Had my 8qt Duo for 2yrs now... use it almost daily still. I toss all my protein in frozen. Add about 10mins ish to any recipe when using frozen meat. Lol i love doing a roast and tossing fresh bread in the oven so they come out around the same time. Once you get a handle on the “Basics” like most recipes and cooking equipment. The Sky is the limit. If you want “Crispy” like someone else said toss in the oven for about 15 mins. Ribs... We do ribs... and then toss on the grill or in oven to crisp up.... 😂😂😂 Forget hard boiled eggs then...and Christa... I used my IP to pour the turkey drippings for thanksgiving into on saute to make my gravey.... turned out spectacular. I routinely make gravy from the “broth” left when cooking meat in the IP.
