I know it costs more but I always replace any piece of wood with pressure treated. Then if it leaks again who cares
It’s not safe to use pressure treated for interior uses.
What are the measurements of the boards and screws you're using?
Girl I can’t thank you enough for this! My trailer has an aluminum frame as well and I’m working on replacing the whole roof. My hybrid doesn’t have any kind of truss or curvature to the roof. It’s literally flat! Do you think I should make one or just replace it how it is?
Interesting…there is usually some curve, even if it’s small. Flat will hold water on the roof. I would be curious to know if the roof is damaged or if it’s manufactured like that. I wouldn’t want my roof flat, so some type of slight curve is ideal
Yeah it’s insane! I completely removed the paneling, foam insulation, etc to expose the frame on the entire roof and it’s literally just flat aluminum square bars with wood paneling laid on top of it and of course the membrane on top of that. I can’t find any information on whether it’s supposed to be that way, but I think you’re right - a slight curvature would be best so I’ll see if I can find some vids on how to do that without a sample one to replicate haha
Mine is a hybrid with an aluminum frame and it was flat as well! We are working on replacing it but hopeful to make a slight curve.

I have a 2014 keyston ultra light with no slide out. Are all travel trailer roofs similar to what you were doing in this video as far as the thickness of the wood? Mine needs attention to the roof and delimitation.
If it’s an ultra light, it will be similar. Foam on the inside of the roof. The difference will be the framing-sometimes there’s more, sometimes there’s less 😂🫣

Sorry, don’t have very good camera angles when the back part of the roof is rotten and there’s no where to put my tripod. Not fixing to take a chance of my $1000 camera falling off the ladder 😂 hopefully I can be forward facing soon
