The National Lutheran Choir, in rehearsal for Christmas 2014, with Gretchaninov's "Nunc Dimittis". From the apse of the Basilica of St. Mary, Minneapolis MN
This has got to be the best rendition of Nunc Dimittis on CZcams. This is one of my favorite choral pieces which I sang in the late 1960s at First Congregational Church in Los Angeles. I'm delighted to start rehearsing it tonight with the Willamette Master Chorus in Salem, OR.
The rumble of the basses at the end of this just gives me chills. It did when I first sang it in the California Redwoods Chorale in 1978, as well. Such a gorgeous piece of music.
Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared before the face of all people; to be a light to lighten the Gentiles, and to be the glory of your people Israel. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
Wonderful--even thrillling.

What a gorgeous sound.
Dr. Luther would surely love this.
This is such a gorgeous arrangement of the Nunc Dimittis......I want to sing in a choir like this....Texas is too far away......
