- eu4 1.34 and the Lions of the North DLC has brought an insane EU4 Poland. In fact, EU4 1.34 Poland might be the most OVERPOWERED nation in EU4! With the new unique unit - eu4 winged hussars, you can devastate your enemies with stackwipes and cavalry armies! Also, the PLC or eu4 commonwealth is a power to be feared, with the EU4 Sejm allowing for a monarchy or a republic!

NO ONE SAY ANYTHING ABOUT HAVING SEEN THIS BEFORE. I DEFINITELY DIDN'T ADD MUSIC AND PUT IT BACK UP.
Goddamit, now I'll never know how the no-music video ends!
Nooooo!! We are sorry :c
Ngl didn't notice the lack of music
Hmm
Wasn't even that bad without the music, made me concentrate more on what you were saying, the video was actually more interesting in general.
WAIT, I SAW THIS VIDEO ALREADY
NO, WAIT
Adventage of being half-neglected.
Russia update? Poland gets some breadcrumbs
HRE update? Poland gets some crumbs
Northern Europe? Poland gets some Crumbs
Crumbs starting to pile up, eh
Pov: you are in central europe
And then there's Lithuania which got even less somehow despite being one of the largest countries in 1444
@@compatriot852 I mean, it might've been big in terms of km^2, but if you look at the geopolitical sitiuation and "development" then the Grand Duchy of Lithuania was definitely less of a player than Poland. It's like Russia today, sure, they are big, but in reality they don't matter that much anymore. History has shown us that "playing tall" is better. And also obviously they get PUed 90% and is chosen a lot less than Poland so it's a good marketing decision for Paradox to just focus on the country that is the Senior partner of the union
@@speedyx3493 💀💀💀bro thinks russia doesnt matter anymore
I just imagine how the game could go, like
“Kazimierz, the Fourth of His Name, of the House of Habsbourg, King of Poland and Lithuania, King of Bohemia, Apostolic King of Hungary, King of Spain, Archduke of Austria, King of the Bulgarians, and Emperor of the Romans”
You could add "Grand Duke of" Lithuania.
Polish kings like Hungarians have their own special title granted by the pope: Rex Orthodoxus
*of the house Jagiellon
I feel like this new Poland is kind of the Catholic Ottomans. That's good because it increases the chance of having more end-game threats than just Russia, Ottomans, or Spain.
For me always russia is weak
Since when is Spain ever a threat? Usually they're more of a nuisance considering their troops are all over the world and you can just siege everything they have in Iberia with impunity.
Now France on the other hand...
@@viniciusyugulis7278 when you're playing Byzantium and trying to form Rome. You have to neuter them quickly but that's easier said then done.
The Commonwealth also kills most of my Byzantium runs.
@@dango6266 bruh what kind of masochist tries to form Rome as Byzantium? Or are you trying it for the achievement?
Poland AI has serious issues though because the Ottoman death blob always crushes Poland. Despite Poland realistically being far superior 300k troops vs 700k+ is a no go. It's like 300 spartans lol
Fun fact the Lithuanian king can die before the succession of wladislaw event, if this happens the event won't fire at all.
I had that happen and I was mad 😂
He's a Grand Duke, not a king 😎
Can't believe you didn't convert Moldavia to a Vassal. I think that probably definitely contributed to you being over diplo limit the whole time, and could have been easier. The march does help you secure the PUs more I guess, but in my opinion converting them is worth it
With strong duchies you can have 6 relations - 3 PUs, Byzantium, Bulgaria and Moldavia. I think keeping Moldavia as a march isn't a big problem, I feed it Wallachian land to make it stronger. It's the same religion and culture + I don't need to core it.
@@marcinkusmierzak991 you forget Mazovia, Danzig and 2 allies to your list. sure, by the time he got bulgaria, he broke 1 alliance but, he integrated Mazovia really late.
@@Shadow.24772 I meant what subjects you can keep. Integrating Mazovia is a priority, after that, I prefer to integrate Danzig than Moldavia so keeping Moldavia as a march doesn't hurt me. And do you need allies with such strong Poland? I would only RM Burgundy to get the inheritance
Imagine being Wallachia in this timeline. Just being entirely surrounded by a unified Polish bloc.
EDIT: Imagine being Wallachia in this timeline. Just being entirely deleted right after I made this comment.
guess its time to impale some poles, - vlad probably.
@@rinzzler366 what's he going to impale them on? They are already poles.
@@jamesrivettcarnac other poles obviously. He'd be messed up enough to do that.
You read Sejm like "same"
I'm doing a Poland Can Into Space run with the new tree. The early game of getting the Unions is fun, but as per usual the tree is done around 1650 and you're ridiculously strong with nothing to do. I actually find the true slightly more underpowered than most in one respect, being that it has hardly any permanent modifiers like most other trees added over the past few years.
unless you get lifetime of war, because of shit load of general cost modifiers it is very easy, so you can get even stronger hussars, +1 dice roll on own territory which makes conquering plc hard because no matter if you attack or defend he is always going to have +1 dice roll or army professionalism, it depends but I would think about hussars or dice roll, combined with very strong military polish ideas you get one of the best army you can get
Create your own story, don't rely on mission trees to direct what you do. You're pretty spoiled if having "nothing to do" means finishing the mission tree.
My favourite thing about Poland this patch is that if you take the option to not favour the nobles you can revoke privileges regardless of loyalty meaning that you can easily get 100 mercantilism by repeatedly revoking and granting exclusive trade rights.
Then the winged hussars arrived
Coming down the mountainside
Then the winged hussars arrived
Coming down they turned the tide
Imagine not transfering ocupation to Danzig and expecting them to take land.
21:21 those biceps tho. daddy laith getting gains
For all of you eu4 players playing as poland. “Sejm” is pronounced like “same”
It was funny, when he said "instead od sejm, which is pretty much the same"
Ewidentnie najlepszy dlc xd
oj tak tak byczq
Average polish enjoyer
oj +1 PL GUROM
no way that's a real word
It's actually the best word
I've been playing Poland since the update and have just been having fun stacking cavalry combat ability and demolishing armies left and right. One scary thing is that the AI France owns half the HRE by 1520. Their army like three times as large as mine while I own all of eastern Europe.
Players map mode is awesome for games like this where you have a lot of vassals. Makes all the land that is owned by you and your subjects the color of your country. If there is a part 2 of this, I would love to see you flash over to that screen at some point.
SEJM IS PRONOUNCED SAME
3:25 Just send them manpower, it worked every single time for me
8:52 Screw that kind of roleplay
People say it's 50/50 manpower works 100% for me
Yeah not for me, money works most of the time for me
What I’m learning from EU4 CZcamsr video titles is that every country is OP now.
Nice video as always Laith!
What I did was straight after the Bohemia PU I no CB’d Byzantium and then fed them all there cores and did the Bulgaria strat and crippled the ottomans before 1460. However, I did Austria on my side and the ottomans were fighting Venice when I started against them.
He was flexing on us at 21:24
In battle of Varna (the game start one day after) Władysław III of Varna die. He was king of Poland, Hungary and Bohemia. And so it makes more sense that you can get the PU's so early. You just grab back, what's was yours.
Bohemia not yet, as he was offered the crown only.
That intermarium alliance was called the Międzymorze
one thing i noticed is that you can get the bohemia pu by allying them and getting trust up to 100, hungary always starts rivaled to you though so waring for that pu is inevitable
I've been saying for more than a year now that EVERYTIME Paradox touches a nation, they feel obligated to make it the most powerful nation in the world for no reason. To push even farther the notion of 'over-powered'
And people have been laughing at me for saying that.
Well...
In a world where everyone is overpowered, nobody is.
To be fair, the strongest aspect of poland right now are the bohemia/hungary pus, both of those have pus on each other and poland in their mts so it was only fair that poland got missions for that too
I think it's different people who worked on it so every new DLC the people lose sight of keeping it in line with the previous DLCs
@@danshakuimo If so, it's incompetence.
People working on EU4 should know about the meta and the general strength and rewards of various nations.
The fact is, it's incompetence.
I've played this DLC and it's exactly what I expected. A bunch of missions trees breaking the game, making northern nations OP for no reason. That's it.
Playing with mission expanded + governement expanded mods is better than this. It's better made.
I think it's quite sad.
tbh, this isn't that different from Austria.
Austria can more or less do the exact same, + have emperorship for free. I don't really see it as that much stronger
Sejm is pronounced seym
I think it gives beginners another option other than Castille or ottomans and enables them to learn more mechanics.
I saw it before without the music (i'm funny xD)
"I miss Leithuania" Despair...
Mmm,I am from Poltava, it was nice to hear you saying that name😅
Sometimes I do the same with England in a way. Easy PU on france. I can normally get a PU on Aragon, then just watch them both kill everything. Sometimes I even go the HRE route with it and become the Emporor. Some of the stuff you do in this game can be stupid OP.
The union with Hungary is based on the fact that Poland had one in the middle ages, and there was a chance for one with Lithuania later on. The Bohemia thing could be possible if EU started about 1000s
Not correct.
In fact, the king who died in Warna was offered Bohemian crown as well.
Later in 15xx one Jagiellon ruled over Poland and Lithuania and his brother ruled over Bohemia and Hungary.
It all went downhill after they made pact with Habsburgs.
Fyi, centralized monarchical bureaucracy makes you get back the admin and reform cost of centralizing a state, effectively making so that you can have infinite governing capacity.
So yes, it is now just a number.
I'm pretty sure I never seen this video without music before.
You do know that there is a player mapmode so you can easier see what you and your subjects own
21:10 Oh good, more Hapsburgs...
Just finished a really fun run where I played tall pretty tall on hard and went republican rather than absolutist then went revolutionary and had a great time using my op army to spread the revolution.
Every video I watch makes me want to try a different nation
Commonwealth blobbed HARD in my France playthrough. Ate half of Hungary, absolutely destroyed the hordes, erased Muscovy and had gotten halfway across Anatolia before I got the subjugation mission.
Turns out I should've weakened them first cause there's a permanent 300% liberty desire from dev and I'll never be able to annex them.
Oh great now Muscovy is even more impossible to play as now..
16:20 peak gaming
It is just history, Jagiellonian dynasty ruled in those 4 countries and Commonwealth became hegemony in Europe for 200 years
Wish those missions for PU'ing Bohemia and Hungary were further down the mission tree and maybe blocked behind something more fun than conquer XYZ
To pronounce sejm you just need to say “same”
Mate love the content, please make a custom nation in lancashire and unite all of the british isles and call the run "Manchester United". That way you show support to your fav team!
Can confirm Poland is OP this patch
Releasing the Latin empire makes all Byzantine Greek cores turn polish, it was sort of insane when I saw mine
This was added to represent the chadness ot poland
Laith so that you can show your empires better if you work with vassals and pus u can use player map mode to show the full extent
What is the gui mod for the peace deals?
The reaction of were a von hapsberg was
Funny
The PU's over Hungary and Bohemia are historical, since they were ruled by the king of Poland, who died one day before the game begins in the Varna Crusade. Similarly, The Prussian Confederation and Romans Rebellion in Moldavia also happened in real life. Poland is overpowered, but it's historical, as opposed to the French PU missions. They literally have a PU CB against Poland because... Napoleon made a polish puppet state in the 1800's.
Europe was collectively scared of the Commonwealth's potential power to just curb stomp them all. It's why Russia, France and Austria collectively worked together to sow internal discord and chaos being a electoral monarchy the nobles had a lot of influence which lead to a lot of internal politcs and division. If the Commonwealth was ruled by either a Republic or a hereditary monarch, they very much likely wouldn't have had half as much internal strife.
Notifications squad reporting in o7
if you take the latin empire for the event it coverts most of the provinces to polish (might be a glitch)
Poland becomes the most OP nation in EU4-> Happy Zdzisław noises
"Oh we are a von habsburg"
**marries austria**
I thought so too, but then I PUed hungary via war and my king died at age 25 causing me to lose it immediately while sitting on tons of AE, and Bohemia simply rejected the decision to become my PU. So, the most OP country in the game is still RNG.
btw, "Sejm" in polish is pronounced like "say" + "m" sound.
that's an alt+f4 this game loves murdering kings way before it should
Poland is pretty much op since half a year tbh^^ or even longer. rarely a game where i dont see em coming to the end
Laith, word "Sejm" in Polish is red similar to "same" in English. Greetings from Poland!
Than Winged Hussars arrived!
Ah yes the lore momentum of poland in eu4 lion of the north
0:58
Seżem xD
You forgot to release the powerhouse that is Galicia Volhynia
Waiting for the micro-update where they remove your ability to run the game at Speed 5. Just for Laith.
bro ive gotten the denmark achievement brick by brick and it took me like 5 retries because the pretender rebels are crazy.
ive gotten very far with a sweden one too, but poland got way too strong and i cant continue it. man euiv just fucked me in the ass lately.
Go the Annbenar route make ever nations misson tree op so no nation is more op
So, what Laith is saying.... Poland Stronk?
I think playing as Poland is depressing because if the game started a day earlier you'd have a personal union with Hungary
can u do the "laith strat" with every releasable nation? so say i take one province in ming and release one province of xi will the rebels go around changing all the ming provinces that have a xi core to xi? i assume id have to take all the ming land around the xi cores first to stop ming killing the rebels right?
They should change how PU's and vassals work if they want to keep adding these PU missions.
Why do you have old estates menu??
As if Poland wasn't strong enough already, now it's hilariously Overpowered and as a Polish man that warms my heart ❤
Poland is now pretty much the Catholic Ottomans and I LOVE IT!
my start with poland is 1449 pu hungary and dismantle the hre with ally all electors every time xD
Is goverment type in the video pic real or just clickbait because if its real its so op
Mods you use?
TheRedHawk always slaughtering his horses, you always demolishing your forts... Everyone has their fetishes, I guess.
What CPU do you have?
Continue this please ?
What I dislike mainly about Poland and Lithuania is the lack of flavor and gameplay diversity. The lack of Romuva paganism, sucession crisis with Švitrigaila, Prussian Lithuanians, Courland colonialism, Jagiellonian/Gediminas dynastic events would make it much more enjoyable
Sejm is pronounced very similar to the english word "same"
I like those changes. Its pretty annoying always having hard time from ottos and once in a while just shovel them down with ease before 1470 :D
What a stupid question...when Prussia and Russia were OP for years no one said shit, but when Poland finally got some interesting updates, a lament suddenly rises.
I SAW IT BEFORE AND IT DIDN'T HAVE MUSIC
Day 46 (again) of asking Laith to play as Krakow in EU4
While reading polish names "J" is pretty much an "i" for us
Angevin Empire part 2 when?
Well, I tried Riga run and... It was an epic fail due to Poland. In current patch they just singlehandedly eliminate and put Muscovy in debt and make best friends with Sweden, so there is actually no possibility for an OPM to fight for the Baltic region. It feels like trolling from devs to give content for Baltic OPMs with so absolutely broken Poland.
even before this hungary and austria were also already op with pus... hungary i got pu with bohemia & poland & lithuania within like 20 years.. the austria one was much more difficult cos they made the mission tree jank and it doesnt make sense
the first fort u deleted was literally free ☠️
Why doesn't anyone use the trust thing for bohemia?
Does Poland have the best Cav in the game? I distinctly remember a certain order of Knights turned into a horde absolutely trouncing with Cav
Here is a secret: you can do both
agree
Poland can into space.
Nice, less than a minute ago. Now if only I was smart enough to come up with a joke.
Austria has 30 semi-subjects with 5-8k troops. Poland has 4-8 subjects with 15-30k troops...
Great video! If you want to pronounce "Sejm" correctly just read it as "Same"
I did wonder why in my current game Poland was going round clapping some Russian cheeks.
