  • Green Chillies tend to spoil fast in the refrigerator. Use these simple tips to store green chilies and enjoy an uninterrupted supply for months!!
    Method:
1.Thoroughly rinse green chillies under running water. Soak in a bowl of water for half an hour.
    2. De-stem all the chilllies. Trim any bruised chillies and save only the good part. Discard any spoiled ones.
    3. Transfer to a strainer/ colander. Let the extra water drain off.
    4. Pat dry with a kitchen towel or spread on a paper towel to air dry.
    5. Once chillies are dry, save a few to be used fresh in the next 2 weeks. Wrap them in a paper towel and store in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator.
    6. To save whole chillies for future need: Transfer a few chillies to a cling film wrapped plate/tray. Cover with a cling wrap. Freeze for a few hours. Once individual chillies are frozen, transfer to a freezer safe bag. Suck out excess air using a drinking straw. Store in the freezer and use for the next few months.
    7. Make a paste of the remaining chillies in a mixer/ food processor.
    8. Take a cling film wrapped tray. Drop small portions of chilli paste ( size of a small coin) onto the plate ( I will call these chilli coins), keeping some gap between the chilli coins.
    9. Cover with a cling wrap.
    10. Freeze for a few hours. After individual coins are frozen transfer to a freezer safe bag. Suck out excess air. Store in the freezer and use in the next few months.

You can just wash them in running water, dry them, put in a sealed bag and then in the freezer. There is no need for all this at all. Just take out some time before use and they absolutely fine.

REALLY GREAT TIPS 🙏 - ( PS :- The LARGE red words/descriptions interfere with and over-impose the video-clips ... and are a “down-side” ... to proper enjoyment of your videos - Traditional white wordings ... and smaller script height ... would be a lot easier to read and also kinder to the eyes !! Had to watch three times to try and capture the words)

Great attempt but this does seem like a lot of effort. Just put them in an airtight container and freeze.
