This is a cost-effective dupe to the Hair Buster Cat Comb. Or just an easy way to enhance your current rabbit grooming tool!
I would recommend this comb for short-haired bunnies!
For longer fur, try a comb with longer teeth.

this hack saved money big time! hairbusters normally cost £25-30. this cost £6.50!!! thanks so much. Hair-buster becomes Hare-buster! xxx
Wait wut
Definitely need to try this, my Cola Bunny is shedding and her coat looks a wreck for it. Also, sorely disappointed that you didn't call it a "harebuster" instead.
@Tsega Meles M'thinks you need to look up what a "pun" is.
@0 Her name. She's a Lionhead/Dutch mix.
Why did the people delete they’re comment.
I never heard of the comb you mentioned. We just use a regular human comb (outdoors is best!). Our bun is short haired like Lennon looks. I love that she is free roam! Our Billy has a big x pen with lots of play time. Otherwise he chews holes in every pillow, blanket and shirt! :)
I didn’t Bruh understand the (outdoors is best) part but keeping a bunny outside is dangerous
Cavy Queen oop ok I thought keeping it outside was what she ment
Lol that's relatable
Omg that's so cool!!! I'm going to try this!
I've used this comb on my cats for almost 20 years now. I love it. It gets all that incredibly fine hair out and holds the hair instead of it going flying around. And all my cats have loved to be groomed with it.
👏👯👏 Thank you Lorelei for this fantastic hack! I had been trying to hunt down the Hairbuster in the UK to no avail and finally found one online from America but it was completely sold out 😣 Now, my floofy rescue (well 2nd hand) bun Tallulah is looking super sleek as it works a treat 😀. I purchased the very same Safari comb as you show (but from eBay, brand new) for less than a quarter of the price of the Hairbuster - result! Being somewhat aged I had a little issue getting the rubber band between the teeth of the comb but had a wee flash of inspiration & used a push pin to count along the teeth, then pushed the pin between the teeth which made is easy peasy to slip the rubber band through 😉. Lorelei your uploads are always charming, educational and oh, so beautifully made, thank you so much 🌌💞🐇🐰🐇🐰💞🌌
my bunny looks alot like yours
I have recently subscribed to you and saw that you talk a lot about the hairbuster comb. Then I found this video. I did this to my flea comb after seeing this video. It works super great for my ferrets! Never thought I could get so much shed out before! I used to brush them day after day during shedding season and now that I used this diy I combed once and haven't had to do it again and it has been a week. So happy you made this video. Thanks😁🐾💜
Seriously thank you ive tryed numerous combs/brushes on my bunny and none have gotten a single hair out
I used a one row flee comb that i already had and it worked amazing !!!
Im going to use this with my cats once i get the chance because i have 5 cats and they shed like crazy! Especially this one cat, simba, his fur is SO LONG and gets everywhere!
Thank you so much for this hack, it worked so well! My bunny has longer hair and she is a baby so when I brushed her before for some reason no hair at ALL came off! So when I put on the grips on the comb, it worked! So thank you so much again
Thank you so much for the tip ! When I used to brush my bunnies, nothing would come out on the brush. Then, I try your tip and loads of hair came out :)
i bought the safari dog flea comb online (the one you used in this video!) and the thick rubber bands and it worked wonders on my rabbit :) thank you for this!!
THANK YOU FOR TEACHING THIS HACK! REALLY HELP WITH MY RABBIT'S FUR. THANK U FOR FOR TEACHING ALL THE INFO AND TRICKS NEEDED TO TAKE CARE BUNNY 😭😭
Great idea! I've been using an ordinary comb but it's not that effective. I noticed lennon gave your hand some kisses. So sweet!
Her voice is so relaxing
Here in Brazil I simply can't find a Hair Buster, this was the best video I found to help my bunnies, the current brush I was using I discovered was hurting them! Thank you very much for this video, my bunnies and I are grateful❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this, I just can't find the hair buster available anywhere from Sweden, so I am definitely going to do this
I needed this so much thank you!
So I tried this method and it works really well thank you
Girl I was literally thinking about doing this but wasn't sure, you just saved me about $15 lol thanks for sharing!
just made mine today, works very good and my rabbits seem to enjoy it!
OMG THIS LITTRARY CHANGED MY LIFE🐰😂❤️I LOVE IT! ❤️THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!😍😘💞💞
I did something similar to this. I purchased a normal cat comb, and used a headband instead of a rubber band and it works just as well. Thank you so much for making this video ️💗💕
I just lost my HairBuster comb after 15-20 years. I couldn't remember what it was called so had to do some searching to find it...remembering that it was fairly expensive. Well, $20 is quite a bit to pay for a comb so I thought maybe I'd try making my own. Good to know you were happy with how your homemade version turned out!
omg... thanks so much... im not getting thick rubberbands anywhere
I got a brush today it isn’t a flea comb but I’m going to get a rubber band and use that one for now thank you for your channel.
thank you so much! This video helps A TON!!!
Omg life saver I live in Canada so a hairbuster on amazon.com is like $56 Canadian for a brush this coast like $8 Canadian that’s like $4
Us!
Awesome video the comb is so cute like Lennon 😀😀😀
Thank you this was so helpful since that i have a lionhead bunny and he needs to be groomed very often
I have a lion head bunny also, when he starts to shed, I’m gonna use this hack. The comb i use doesn’t get the fur out at all! This might also work for maxi and Kermit too (: Kermie is a short hair Guinea pig who sheds quite frequently and i think this might work.
Omg this was sooo usefull, I have 2 bunnies and I’ve had them for about 6 months now, it is shedding season and I wasn’t able to find a good brush that actually got the fur out and this works great! I wanted to buy the hair buster but because I live in south africa the import fees were extremely high ($90) and I couldn’t even find a source that shipped it here🤦🏼♀️
My bunnies are a lion head rex mix one of them has more rex and the otherwise more lion head but they both have long fur and so this helped so much thanks Lennon!!!
Love your videos!!
Omg life saver the hair buster on Amazon for my country costs around $50 and I was not gonna pay that
This is a very helpful video! Thank you! 🐰♥️
OMG THANK YOU THIS WILL HELP ME SO MUCH!!!!
Love this video! I have a netherland dwarf and he has very fine fur, do you think this would work for him? I have tried multiple brushes and none seem to grab his hair enough.
WOW!! great tip 👍. thanks 😉💜🐇
London is so so cute
Omg!!! I tried it and it works sooo well!!!
I like the bunny brush
Omg it worked so well!
thanks for the tutorial, i"ll definitely do this, how often should you comb mini Holland lops?
We have the same colour of your Bunny. Mine is 1 month and 3 days old, they are three Bunnies same colour of yours. Great! I can still find a way to have the hair buster. Here in Philippines, they don’t know what is hair buster and it is not available here. So purchasing that comb is online at amazon.com. But I know it takes time for shipping, so thank you for the video because I can have it by making it.
I did this by cutting a rubber bracelet in half, then loomed it through my flea comb. Way better than buying an actual hair buster! Thanks for the inspiration!!!xoxoxoxo
Thanks sm... i cant find rubberbands anywhere
I can tell one word about this video: importent!💞🐰🐇
Great video!
just bought the comb gonna make it when it comes
Thank u!!! This is awesome
I have the same comb yayy
I actually tried this with my cat with thick fur, because when she starts shedding things can be a nightmare 😂 It worked great!
Hi thanks for this amazing and frugal DIY. Used it and it worked amazingly the only concern I have is that every time is brushed my bunny, her hair came out like anything that to after almost 5-10 mins I stopped as they were still coming out in that quantity only. Please tell me if it’s normal or not.
Mine worked out great!
can you post more often I love your videos
Great video
Were did you get the double toothed comb??? I looove this DIY!!!
It's in the description :)
Definitly doing this
I used to have one of those really nice hairbrushes but I accidently throw it away so this helped
Good idea. I mean that’s basically what it is.
Aww lennon licked you while she was being brushed thats so cute!
Um what brushes are best to buy?
PLUS I don't know why but there are so little comments
Where in South Africa can I get the brush corona is here I can’t get have it shipped here I will get CoRoNa
Does it work well for lionhead bunnies too?
Wat do you need for your baby bunny
How do you get Lennon to pick you. I'm so jelous because I've been trying that with my bunnies but it doesn't work😔
Hey so my bunny’s fur has some mats in it. Can u give me any info or tips on how to de-mat her fur?
I’m going to use This on my cat!
How do a comb a one month old bunnyies head?? Please let me know
I know this might sound silly but can someone say where I can find that rubber band online in south India? I can't find anything that is that thin and broad..
Can this be used on a long haired rabbit? I have a Lionhead.
I can’t find double row combs is it ok to have single row
i love this idea i'm using it for my rabbit! quick question how do you clean the fur off the comb?
Love your channel!!!!!!!!
All About Animals use your fingers
does this work on cats as well?
Can you tell me what that brush is or the brand please?
Hi lorelei, does lennon ever got infected by scabies? If so, how did you treat her? Thank youu
Hey so my bun HATES getting brushed. He is a lop dwarf mix and about a year old. He has a panic attack as soon as he even sees it. What can I do?
Will it work with single tooth?
So I’m using a normal comb but I do what you do and still doesn’t work what am I doing wrong ?
I bought bigger tooth comb for my rabbit and it's not working And it was waste of money so what should I do?
Btw is it okay if i just use a single row?
Can you use a normal hair comb, that humans use? Or will it be harmful ?
Can this be used on a lion he'd rabbit?
How often do you brush her?
Juste got a part lionhead part mini lop bunny and this is very helpful
Would this work for lionheads not just short haired bunnies like Lennon?
Omg I have the same exact bunny!!! A mini lop and Lionhead mix Her name is nala and I think it would work pretty well consider it would get lots of hair out
When is molting season?
Can I use a cat comb too?
I Will try this
it worked for me
Hello everyone. Can anyone of you please tell me what kind of rubber band it is? Cuz I haven't seen such kind of rubber band before. And where will I find it?. Please help please.
After using this, how to take out hair from the hair buster
I need this my lion head has so much fur
can you use string
Hey I have a bunny and it’s a baby I was wanted to know if you can give me a makeover
The hack actually works becouse i already test it on my bunny
My mum got me like a cat brush wth there is to wide of gaps in it.
I suggest being many thick rubber bands in case the first one breaks
Cool video! Can you use that brush on an angora rabbit?
You can try! I would recommend longer teeth though
Thats cool
I know right hairbuster combs are soo expensive
Should a lice comb work well too? I'm wondering because even though I'm going to petsmart today or this weekend it's just cheaper for me as I had a few infestations in elementary school and never used some of the combs
The lice combs don't work as well. I thought the same and have tried it as a flea comb for my cat a few years back. The bristles aren't as close together as they are with a flea comb. Also, the lice comb I had was plastic and it wasn't as durable. They sell flea combs at walmart for cheap. The cheaper flea comes don't have the handle, instead the handle is a half circle is connected right next to the actual comb part, but it works the same as the ones with the large handle (like the one in the video).
Starla Wilson ok thanks, my lice combs are metal but thanks haha
have a quick question. I have a rabbit that has free roamed my neighbor hood for quite a while because when got to big for her cage she chewed out of it and started to free roam the neighborhood. I now know that that probably isn’t a good thing. I was thing of getting her an X-pin and letting her live in that while I am at school. I can’t free roam her because my family has 2 cats. I have a way to keep the cats out of my bedroom though. Would it be mean to put my bun bun in an X-pin? I hope someone sees this.
Cats won’t hurt rabbits. Definitely keep her in she’ll get killed in the neighbourhood. X-pen in your room is good, and let her round round when you’re there.
@@AllyPETA IK, but my parents think the rabbit would be unhappy. she has been free roaming for 2/3 years.
