    The threaded bit at the end is for fitting a sound moderator (silencer). Common practice in Britain. Takes a little bit of the bark out of it.

    Ola Travis, this new BSA Super Meteor (Birmingham) with the Minelli stock is impeccable. Meteor has always been the brand's best-selling break barrel. Looking forward to more videos, have a good week buddy.

    I've calculated that at being just over the legal limit in the UK.
    Interesting to see what it would Chrono over a range of pellets.
    Unfortunately in the UK if your air rifle is checked and it's over the 12fp limit you could be in trouble.
    The police can use any pellets they wish not necessarily the pellets you are using with the gun.
    So another pellet could push it further over.
    I can only assume this rifle was made for export to the USA .

      If it's new, it could be dieseling, which can take the power up a little. It might seltte down a little once all of the packing oil and grease has been cleaned from the barrel.

    Hello, my friend,
    The Minelli stock is made from Beech. It looks like a great air rifle with great potential to be a good air rifle.
    If you want to be great with your air rifle, you'll have to bear in mind artillary hold.
    Your air rifle is a spring piston, meaning the recoil caused when you pull the trigger will cause your muzzle to move.
    You'll have to hold your air rifle exactly the same way on every shot. Otherwise, your accuracy will differ. If you wore a padded jacket then a t-shirt, your accuracy wouldn't be the same because of the thickness and flex in the material.
    Your air rifle is beautiful and I hope you like it. They are harder to shoot than pcp's, that's partly why pcps are more popular.
    I have the BSA R12 CLX PRO. I find it fantastic. Everything about it, just fantastic.
    Best wishes, my friend.

    I hope to get one of these at some point, looks like a modern take on a traditional sporting spring rifle, interested to see how it shoots with a compact scope and calmer weather. As gusts of wind come in and it starts sleeting, "This is not optimal" made me chuckle.

  • @funkygrib1
    @funkygrib1 Před 7 měsíci +1

    This is my open sight gun, used a 40mm objective Hawke, then reduced weight with a 32mm Hawke and back to open sights. It is as light as a feather I feel a scope spoils it, so sweet to keep it simple. (.22 Webley AccuPell) are its FAV, I believe these are H&N rebadged.

    • @Beesa10
      @Beesa10 Před 7 měsíci +1

      The more modern style stock has a higher comb to compliment the use of a scope, I agree it's nice to have the option of using open sights and not have that extra weight on top of your rifle, yes, 2-7x 32mm Vantage or Airmax is nice for minimizing extra bulk & weight. Good to hear the open sights are still usable. My HW77K laminate stock seems to be at the limit of still allowing the iron sights to be comfortably usable which I guess also depends on face size/shape.

  • @MilledSteel
    @MilledSteel Před 2 měsíci +1

    It’s got some attractive features, one person said the sights were hard to use due to high cheek weld on the stock. But 615 FPS with CPHPs? That’s hard to stomach when every other break barrel does at least 800 FPS in the US. Why would BSA sell a detuned air rifle here? I’ll be honest though, I only see it on Airguns of Arizona so maybe they imported it and BSA is not looking at the US market with it

    • @ohshoot444
      @ohshoot444  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I don’t think it’s too terribly underpowered. It’s very easy to shoot as well. It does benefit from a scope though. The stock isn’t quite the best for open sights.

  • @bigd835
    @bigd835 Před 6 měsíci +2

    I think the crosman vantage NP is a better shooter. its shooting about 175 fps faster. I do love the look and quality finish on the BSA. when you consider quality/price/value/customer service its hard to beat a crosman nitro piston.

    Airguns of Arizona has the gun listed normally $499.00, on sale for $199.99.
    I finally decided to chrony my Hatsan Mod 25 Supercharger pistol. I wanted to see how close to it's claimed 800fps it would get. Using Gamo Bluefire alloy pellets, it averaged about 780fps, and hit a high of just over 800.
    Just for the hell of it, I took out a few of my weird Skenco plastic pellets (they claim to be 40% metal). They're super-light. Those things shot over 950fps. I think the highest was 993fps. Impressive, until you consider the incredibly poor accuracy past about 20 yards.

    Too bad it's sub 12 Fpe, and the price is too high for that. I have a BSA Comet Evo GRT which is a fertilization of Gamo with BSA. Fortunately with the cold forged barrel. I thought I had an Englishman in the house with my Webley Quantum. Only discovered by chance that they are made by Hatsan. Fortunately, no quality problems for which Hatsan is somewhat known.
