Suzuki Boulevard C50 Bobber Build Project Day 1

- OK I decided to go ahead with the custom bobber project right away :) It won't be especially cheap, but I have a REAL sweet vision in my head for a beautiful 1-up cruiser that fits my taste and style. We'll see how close I can come in reality, what lies ahead as I go through the project and how much everything costs! I'll run through the complete tally at the end of it all. I'll pickup the bike in 3 days when the seller has the day off and the wife can drive me up, load up the extra exhaust and drop me off. I'm waiting to order the REAL expensive stuff until I have it here and can do a full inspection - meaning tear it down. I don't foresee any issues past what I already saw, but there's no rush, it can wait a week to be safe. I need to get a new speedo bezel and footboards because of wear and damage, everything else should be covered. I got a new lift on clearance today, some plugs and oil. The filters are on the way along with chrome levers and badges. Let the games begin!

Ryca motors sells several complete kits for the Suzuki Boulevard S40. I really like the Scrambler or the Cafe Racer kits so I would probably do one of those. I know it's not as custom as fabricating parts yourself for a different bike but that's a little beyond my skill level. Good luck with the bobber. It's going to be awesome when it's complete.
I love the triumph. I'd do a England flag theme triumph. But honestly. I like them stock.
for cleaning the chrome try brass wool if the chrome is of good quality .
this will clean it up and not scratch it . marine stores carry it .

You need some simichrome! Best polish for aluminum. Used it on my CB 750's. Yeah, I'm old.

Ryca Scrambler for me. Wanted one since I saw the Jey Leno's Garage episode.
Definitely a cafe racer for me. Unfortunately, after my 2 neck surgeries I wouldn't be able to ride more than a few blocks. 😢

I'm contemplating building Ryca C40 scrambler or standart. I'd love to have light off-road bike for dirt roads. C40 is quite cheap but scrambler kit is 2x the price of the bike itself. Especially since I need international shipping. Still contemplating...
If I were to build a custom bike, I think I would do a CB750 or older r-series BMW cafe bike.
motorcycle oil should be used to protect the wet clutches.
