Kapagapir/Pagapir

Kapagapir/Pagapir dance originated from the Maranao people who lived mainly around Lake Lanao in the island of Mindanao. Ladies of the royal Court perform this stately dance in preparation for an important event. The dancers gracefully manipulate the apir or fan while emphasizing their small steps, or "kini-kini", which is a sign of good upbringing.
