Omg! Ours too! Two catalytic converters, two sets of brakes, caliper, one fuel pump, one set of tires, expensive headlight. Literally all at the same time. All three cars. It was rough. Glad that’s over with.

I am loving what you are doing with your log cabin so far. By putting that TV up on the fireplace it does look so much bigger and brighter. Replacing your checkered curtains also brightens and freshens the room. Your living room reminds me of a English Garden room❤.

I love the ideas for your mantle because our television also is above the fireplace. It is a challenge decorating every season. I’ve seem to come up with wonderful ideas but I really appreciate yours. Liz the log home is looking beautiful and it is a vacation home so you can have less is more.
Moving the TV looks so nice Liz! The room looks so open with all the beautiful natural lighting! And image the possibilities of decorating the console table in front of the window now!!
p.s. I bet your hubby could build some awesome cabinets to go around the speakers to give it more of a decor element. My best friends husband did that because he also is very much into audio and she was struggling with the way they looked lol.
Liz...you got lots of ideas...with this change in your decor style that you stated and IS A VERY NICE show in your newest, latest home.......waiting to see how you put it all together in a LOG HOME! the house kinda dictates the direction you should go, but...yeah...it's your house..decorate it the way you want. You've got so many beautiful and interesting furnishings to use, but gotta say the choice pieces in your new style in your new house...you put together and they look GREAT...again the log house is a log house....................!!!!!!!!

Love seeing you lighten up the log home. Since this is your vacation home, I think the changes so far are relaxing yet timeless….less is more. Your views make this home!
In the “library”, keep the cabinet opposite of the shelves, it balances each side. If you move the wine fridges, just leave the area empty as it draws the eye to the window and brightens the room, but if you put something under the window, make it a light item like a glass console or mirrored one to maintain lightness because of the heavy black on either side.

Hi Liz, love, love, love the sectional. It works so well in the living space. I think that’s an excellent idea adding in the accent lighting. I hear ya’ about pleasing our hubbies with their entertainment speakers. I have one large one in a space I’m not thrilled about, but was able to negotiate with him removing one - lol. That cottage is my dream home. So cozy. I can see your windows with vintage lace you buy by the yard. Its not really lace but its a valance and would be gorgous with the style & wood.

Hey Liz! An idea for the speakers... ya ever seen ppl put 4 shutters tgthr to make a box and then add a square piece of wood to the top to basically make a plant stand? Well, u could do something similar. If u used the shutter idea, it would look to Victorian or traditional BUT, if u had your husband make a wooden framed box that are slightly taller than your speakers, then u could attach radiator grates to each panel, add a square piece of wood on top, thereby creating basically a "sleeve" to go over the speakers. U could then use the top for plants etc. U could also use your laser tool to create your own patterned panels instead of the radiator grates. These panels will allow the sound to come through! Win, win!!

I love the new curtains and the family room looks good. It really opened up the space. Also remember as long as the main level is decorated nicely no one will worry about the bedrooms. You just need beds upstairs in the girls' room. I would not redo their rooms right now. Some are at the age they may get married soon and then of course you will want to redo their rooms then.

I’m with you on the speakers situation. You can have some free-standing, three-sided lattice work boxes made to fit your speakers which will help hide them a bit and still have a great sound!

Put the black long buffet from the library and change it with the green shorter one you have by your sofa. The black will be beautiful with your new pillow covers and then you can work the other green one in the smaller library room! 👍
Angle the desk in the library a bit. I like the idea of moving the buffet where the wine coolers are. By angling the desk you won't have two rectangles "lined up". Carry on, my friend.
Hi Liz. On that room with the bookcase I would put the computer desk towards the back by the windows and put a pair of arm chairs with a cute table and lamp

How about a soft chair somewhere in the reading area and remove one of the consoles. I really like the buffalo check curtains in that room as well. They seem to go nicely with the black library shelving . These are just some of my thoughts. I know whatever you decide will be fabulous. 😊

Liz , with the speakers it would be amazing if you made some wood boxs to go around them use your x tool to make a cut out design on the fronts so the sound would still be great . Stain them and you would have a space to sit things and decor on top of them ❤❤just and idea love all you decorating ideas !!

While I'm not a fan of the TV above the fireplace I totally agree not to block your vacation home view! When you decide you are sold on keeping it up there maybe you can add one of those mounts that allows the TV to tip down some if needed? I feel like if you can move the speakers further apart on the mantle towards the walls so they are not directly under it and then do the up lighting you are talking about angled towards the TV. Crazy I know! You will figure something beautiful out for sure and I can't wait to see. Ok, so here's my really fun and crazy idea for the bookcase room. By the way, really love the table where you moved it. Sooo, drum roll, you totally should change that room into a beautiful and cozy wine tasting room! I'm thinking Sonoma Valley chic! How's that for a suggestion? Lol! Love seeing the changes so far and cannot wait to see whatever you do! 😍
I like the round table so much more in the kitchen area! I also love the fresh look of the new curtains you put up. And I actually like how the tv looks over the mantle and WOW what a view!!! ❤😊❤
I like the idea of putting a butcher block on the wine fridge. I’d leave the long black piece where it is because it would look a bit crowded right next to the bookshelves, using the butcher block and keeping those two pieces where they are gives a “U” shape that makes more sense to the eye! And yes, a rug would anchor the room beautifully!

Your log home is beautiful, Liz! When the video started I was thinking the same thing you were about the large tv in front of the window. So glad you moved it. Those speakers, ugh. I know what you mean about them not being aesthetically pleasing! So, what do you think about putting them along side the tv? I mean, the tv has to be there & the speakers are a part of the movie watching experience so by placing them on either side of the tv it would blend in more! This way you would have the hearth to decorate as you want & the speakers wouldn’t be such an eye sore sorta speak. I normally don’t give my opinion on how people decorate but since you asked for ideas here goes. 😉 If I had that view & those big glorious windows I wouldn’t put anything in front of them blocking that gorgeous view!!! I love that tall slender glass vase & those greenery stems are to die for. But, by setting it on the table in front of the window it kind of blends in with the outside greenery, which is stunning BTW. If you set that tall vase on the hearth on the floor it would pop against the stone wall! By placing tall pieces of furniture in front of the windows & then adding lamps, decor etc takes away from your beautiful serene view, IMO. I believe the same thing applies in the dining area & library area. Those big pieces of furniture are blocking the views! Instead, I would put a big vase filled with cascading flowers, stems etc on dining table & leave the windows open & airy. In the library area I would remove all furniture away from windows & move your desk in front of the window by bookcases so that your back is to the window when seated. This way the window is still open & airy but you have filled the spot. I decorated like you for so long. I thought that I had to fill every nook & cranny with furniture just because I had so much space & so many pieces of furniture. I have come to the realization that less is definitely more when it comes to those beautiful windows & that gorgeous view! After all, this is a vacation home. You are there to enjoy the outdoors, family etc. You have such big pieces of furniture that you could absolutely get away with it!!! 😉 If you are fortunate to live in such a big airy open floor plan, why clutter it up with bulky, distracting furniture pieces & things on top of them. Please don’t take any offense. As I said earlier, I did that exact same thing and I am thrilled with my layout now just by removing all the “stuff” & enjoying the VIEW! I believe the farmhouse decor was about all the DTUFF. The trend now is about decluttering and wide open living spaces. I love coffee table books & enjoy looking through them for inspiration. By thumbing through them you will see what I mean. I love everything you do, Liz & I would never intentionally say anything to offend you. You are evolving in your decor it seems so thought I would share my journey with you! ❤️

Every Library needs a leather chair, just a thought to put that leather recliner in your “Library” space to sit and read or just relax out of main hub, looking at magazines or IPAD.
Hey Liz, idea #1: Do you need 2 of those speakers or could you get away with only 1? Idea #2: could you lay them on their sides and put decor on the top? Idea #3: your handy husband could build a box with trim to look like a column with holes cut out for the sound to come thru. The hole or holes could be covered with a design/grid that you make with your Xtool. then decorate the top of each column. The column could be vertical or horizontal.
I like what you are doing to the log home. I think your desk would look great in front of the window. Add an easy chair in there and you have the perfect spot to do your editing and to look through decor books and magazines.

I would definitely move the wine coolers out and put your large table across the window....love love the large bookcase in the room....love your style..
