It’s interesting that in the Robbie Williams bio, he talks about how he carried on a regular email correspondence with Jason prior to his rejoining Take That (even though they didn’t get on during the band’s first go-round), and those emails were sage-like for Robbie and quite helpful during a low point. I hope Jason’s found what he’s looking for; so many of us never do, or we lose it before we have the insight and maturity to appreciate it. He so deserves to be happy; he seems so kind and endearing.
I believe it’s not as simple as that. If you feel like you don‘t deserve the position you have, to get more responsibility can even increase the feeling of being an impostor who has no right being where he is and the pressure to fake it so it does not all come crushing down. I am not saying that this is necessarily how Jason felt, I guess my point is more that self-worth is developed from within, it can be nurtured (or destroyed) from the outside, but not instilled from the outside. Hence, I do not believe that getting more solos before you believe yourself worthy of singing them is helpful. But to support the person to reach that point of feeling worthy is: with vocal lessons, feedback, shared lead vocals, single solo lines, etc. - slowly, but gradually.

And we're sure that you deserve to be in it. Because all 5 boys make the band, and even when robbie leaves, he's still a part of what Take That is and the fans, music and stories.

I saw the way Nigel treated him while they were shooting the video, he told Jay not to mouth the song if it wasn't the part where he sings. It was very offensive, if honestly. I was shocked...😢
Nigel was a manager for certain, but he could be downright cruel, especially to Jay. Gary said Nigel desired Jason, but that Jay refused his advances. Certainly motive enough, eh?

But what I like about Jay is the fact that he never retaliated, just kept his silence. All the things said after he left the band, I just feel for him... No wonder he didn't want to be part of that anymore
I liked this interview. I always felt sorry for Rob in Take That, because of the situation with Nigel, Gary, etc., but now I've changed my mind. Rob acted very selfishly a few years after Take That (all the Gary bashing). He seemed enjoy rubbing Gary's nose in his success, he had no need to, he was successful in his own right at that point. So there was no need for it. He doesn't seem to have an awful lot of sense in his head (no offence).
@Peter Hogben I feel sorry for all of them. The music biz is very very competitive & they were kids & all worked so hard to be successful. Back then, Gary was the lead so it wasn't fair for all of them. We will never know who said what, but something was said to make Robbie very angry for quite a long time & also made him even more....errr, determined to be successful...from how he was treated. RW was the youngest of all of them, but each seemed to be fearful of Nigel. If RW had never left TT, we would never have known how talented he truly is, so he was being held back. Gary did all the writing when they started & the lead singing so it was a lot different than, say One Direction or a different all boy band. I've seen interviews where the press was really mean to Robbie & his weight. The Press just started things. Markie stayed friends with Robbie which says a lot. Now they all have talked & hopefully will stay bonded forever. They spent more time together as kids than they did with their moms & dads. Sad for Jason as it seems he was not treated fairly either. In a recent interview, even Mark Owen himself said that at the beginning, he messed up some words singing & he was so afraid that he was going to be let go. They were all scared at that time, which had an affect on them all...compete, compete, compete. Dunno, just my thoughts.
...also, they could have replaced Robbie, but they didn't. They all just stopped. That says sooo much too. They are all great guys. Only people that you really care about can hurt you.

If TT gives Jason lead singing role for 2-3 songs, probably he would not feel worthless
