Here I am, a 26 year old man. I love sports, monster trucks, cowboys, R-rated comedies, and other “manly” things. But even I can’t help but ugly cry at this. I also had a toy bunny when I was little.😭😢🥺
Edit: I actually had TWO toy bunnies. I felt wrong about not mentioning the other but the other one wasn’t made of velvet. But I loved both of them equally! I knew one of them as “Bunny” and the other one as “Rabbit.”

That’s true strength. Love is the most powerful force there is. Long live our stuffed rabbits! ❤️‍🩹 🐰

I had this vhs when I was young, it was probably what made me pick the brown rabbit at Build a Bear when I was 12. Dear Bruce, I'll love you for all my days, you've been with me in my deepest darkest times, absorb countless tears and held so tightly in desperation, and seen me rise to the joyful successful woman I am today. At 33, I hold you with me as I watch this, and it's comforting to know you'll be with me always ❤️

I remember getting a velveteen rabbit with this story attached for Christmas one year when I was little. It was always very sad to me that the boy didn't get to keep his rabbit.

I’m almost 40 but every time I see this movie and read the book I blubber like a newborn baby. It’s so sweet and tender and reminds me of my childhood.

I still have my beloved stuffed cat from my first Christmas. The cat was so beautiful when I was a kid, with blue eyes, soft grey fur, and bright red satin ribbon. Now, Fluffy is missing a few whiskers, her red ribbon has darkened, and some of her "fur" has been loved off. But Fluffy will always be just as beautiful as that first Christmas to me

Thank you so much for uploading this!! ❤This was one of my favorite videos when I was very young. My stuffed animals and toys were some of my best friends when I was a kid, and I adored the idea that my love could bring them to life to be my friends forever! And George Winston’s music here is just beautiful…he’s been one of my favorite musicians for years ❤️

Between this being one of my favorite stories growing up, and George Winston's December album being a huge inspiration while growing up too, this is a perfect formula for ripping me to pieces. Now as a middle aged woman, I find myself obsessed with being loved into realness.

This is my favorite picture book as a child, and as old as I am now I still sometimes ask my mom if she can read it to me, even if only half heartedly, I may be an adult now but I always cry before I can finish it.
    Love this book!❤

I balled my eyes out once, it’s a very early memory as I looked at the pictures knowing the story but unable to read it.

Interesting she sounds kind of British here?

Meryl is using a transatlantic/midatlantic diction, which was common in broadcast media up until after WW2. It was always affected, ie. nobody in America spoke like this naturally but it was adopted by a lot of radio personalities. There is a British equivalent in the BBC or RP British English accent.
It's definitely a choice to use it for this! But I think since the story comes from the early 1920s, she's trying to make it 'fit' and feel timeless with the dreamy illustrations.
