The city Freiburg is a beautiful old town close to the Black Forest (in German Schwarzwald). Lake Titisee and lake Schluchsee are nice travel destinations with small towns beside them. The lakes are around 30 driving minutes away, with the car.
The Black Forest has hills up to more than 1000 meters high, like the Feldberg in Schwarzwald. There is a lot of Forest and plenty of possibilities to hike or Mountainbike.
