Saw them in Tempe, AZ for Rhymes in Rooms. It was simply amazing and one of the best shows I've ever been to.

I feel blessed to have been able to see Al and Peter touring together for the Rhymes in Rooms album. Absolutely brilliant.

I always liked Al Stewart. I was lucky enough to see him back in the day (in the mid 70's) at a local college. I'll always remember when they played Year of the Cat, the sax player was hidden behind a partition and when the time came for him to play near the end of the song, he stepped out and played his a## off. I'll never forget that. Flying Sorcery is one of my favorites though. Glad to see him still playing, and sounding good.

I love Al Stewart's songs. Gotta say, the tone on Peter's guitar is ugh from here. Too bad, because he's good.
Oh and lol, Al misses "You can join the flying circus" before "You can touch the morning air against your wheels" Such wonderful lyrics. Probably my favorite songwriter. The Year of the Cat album is my fave. That must have been fun, with Alan Parsons.

I doubt Mr Stewart will ever see this. I was never a deep fan, though I did love "Year of The Cat", "On the Border", and "Time Passages", but at the time the album came out, I bought it on the strength of the title cut, and of course, listened through the album. This is the song I wound up playing the most. This song painted pictures in my mind, so I sought out the inspiration for the song, which also inspired a lifelong fascination with Amy Johnson, no mean feat before the Internet. She was just the kind of woman I dreamed of in my life. I actually did find my Amy, but alas she got away from me, just as if she had perished; vanished from my life as mysteriously as she came. My eternal thanks to Mr Stewart for his talents both of writing and singing, and for bringing this amazing, unforgettable song into my life.

O.K. - The main reason I click on this video was because of the Washburn guitar sitting on the stage (I own the same one and it's my #1).
But I gotta say Al Stewart sounds great! Great jam. Bravo!

Great song guys. Okay now I'm curious. What guitar was Peter playing?

Hey, Peter's guitar is a Fender collector's Strat guitar with that particular pale blue color. He plugged it into a music synthesizer.

You can buy this on DVD from Al’s website. However I have taken the DVD and digitally enhanced it upscaling it for this channel. You should absolutely support Al as I have done by buying the DVD.
