I grew up learning Classical Ballet, Tap and Jazz Ballet - the Bob Fosse choreography reminds me so much of the Jazz Ballet that I learnt in the 70ies.
I did jazz ballet (theatrical) I did my first dance class in 1974 and this is the style you were taught. Classical ballet and tap dancing were compulsory to. Our dance instructor said you needed to be able to do classical ballet to be a good dancer.
Saying that “I DO NOT LIKE JAZZ, “ is like saying, I don’t like food, there are so many variations of all music, but there are only two classifications GOOD OR BAD whether or not is is to your taste is something completely different
Some people don't like food. Some people don't like the majority of Jazz music. I myself am yet to find a Jazz song I like. Sure, I may find a song that sounds alright, but in general it just hurts my ears.
@@NegativeAccelerate I agree some jazz also hurts my ears as does some classical and some modern, but try listening to Yuja Wang , who is probably one of the best classical pianists of today, playing jazz variations on Mozart, or perhaps Jacques Loussier playing jazz variations on Bach, or perhaps yehudi Menuhin, playing with Stephane Grappelli, I could go on ad Infinitum, there is just so much good music about in every category, expand your horizons
@David D I also listen to music that's not in English. I love Marc Anthony!! I know every song he sings and I've seen him in concert many times. I don't speak Spanish but I have looked up the translations of every song he sings. I never listen to the songs that he sings in Engligh. There's no passion, only when he sings in Spanish. I also listen to Hindi, Greek, Turkish, Armenian, music, doing the same.
I loved the Sweet Charity section. That entire dance number is my favorite scene in the entire movie, so it was very cool seeing it recreated here. Nice job!
The first one was great but then, THEN, the dance at the gym from West Side Story...be still my heart! Loooove that! You all are fantastically gifted. Wish the video were longer. Bravo!
I love the dancers, I would prefer to see the dances, though. Not just a bunch of jump cuts. Seeing a dancer from the waist up on a Choreography demo sort of defeats the purpose.
You are absolutely right and that's way I don't watch dance numbers anymore. They are all shot to compliment the camera director, not the coreographer.
I so do NOT like jazz music … but I adore your dance group & choreography … totally mesmerised & left wanting more … please do share more … or tell us where we we can see you … BEAUTIFUL … and I’m Uber fussy! Thank you for the smiles. So very much, Lynn … I am a dancer too ..now… mostly in my head … but it never ever leaves my soul! 💜
OMGoodness, each and every dancer is wonderful, so expressive, talented just terrific...makes me "giddy" with pleasure...thanks so much for displaying these terrific, beautiful dancers.....
Absolutely Love this footage and choreography!!! It so reminds me when JAZZ was JAZZ back in the day when I first studied modern jazz and taught!! So much feeling and expression ...Awesome!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! Love how you use the accents in the music, love how you translate the music into movement, love the enthusiasm of the dancers, love the steps, love the passion, love everything! Watched it over and over again!!!
Que expresiva y buena bailarina es la chica que usa flequillo que pena que no está adelante de todo. Felicitaciones para todos en especial a ella, que es una artista completa, baila y actúa.
I noticed her also, "flequillo", la frange en français, bangs in English, is sexy and gives that special fifty's or sixty's vibe ! she is very talented ....
I hate to say it but I disagree. Group dance is choreographed to be seen as a group. If there is a solo, everyone else is still or at least subdued so as not to distract from the solo dancer. This cinematography would have been enhanced by positioning the camera view from the audience's perspective and leaving it there. I found all the camera movement and angles to be frustrating. But, what do I know? 😊
The guys and dolls staging is a very advanced beginner musical theater classroom choreography. Sweet charity, came close to Mr Fosse’s style, which when you’re performing his dance works, that’s the focal point of his choreography. Articulate hands and pelvis. For Jerome Robbins number from the original WSS. His style was glassed over. It was margarine and not true butter I was offered. The over all thing I found missing from every piece performed was what is no longer being taught in dance classes like jazz and musical theater, because of the lack of historical dance integrity not being offered on social media platforms. Has anyone performing any of these different dance choreography styles taken any Martha Graham modern technique? I’ve taken classes of her technique, and a dancer from the Jets and the Sharks who were in the original stage and movie production of WSS. No one knows their center to move from their core and have an understanding of a Contraction. Which everyone of there dances requires, because of their dance backgrounds in the time period from which each of these choreographies come from. It’s what I’ve seen being omitted from being taught or forgotten technique from the dance curriculum. I feel all of these piece were made with imitation flavoring, not the real flavor they were originally made with. They’re also one dimensional. Please don’t let the fluff everyone is saying to you, that your work is great. It’s just another layer in your dance choreography career to understanding these great choreographers attention to detail as they saw it imprinting their signature style to them.
They are superb. They don't just dance, they are completely inhabited by what they do. Hats off ladies and gentlemen.
I grew up learning Classical Ballet, Tap and Jazz Ballet - the Bob Fosse choreography reminds me so much of the Jazz Ballet that I learnt in the 70ies.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your tribute to 'the man', Mr. Fosse.
And of course, all the other moves are fab!
Thanks so much! « The Man » is my all time fave 😍 So glad you enjoyed the hommage :)
Love this! This was a FABULOUS tribute to musical theaters roots, the music, THE DANCE! Made me want to join in!!
Wowowow! From an old school dancer who's still performing... your choreography and dancers are sizzling! Bravo!
I did jazz ballet (theatrical) I did my first dance class in 1974 and this is the style you were taught. Classical ballet and tap dancing were compulsory to. Our dance instructor said you needed to be able to do classical ballet to be a good dancer.
All my favorite dances in one place! Thanks so very much.

I LOVE(!!!!) the dancing, but I have to watch it on mute.

I can’t believe you people. This is iconic music from some of the most famous musicals ever.
Shame on you!

I Love how every dancer is dancing with the whole of their body feeling the music, not just going through the steps.
I love the dancers, I would prefer to see the dances, though. Not just a bunch of jump cuts. Seeing a dancer from the waist up on a Choreography demo sort of defeats the purpose.

Great! Looks so fun! I took jazz dance in college for 3 years back in the 1980s and loved every minute of it.
Nothing else to say but they were totally FANTASTIC! Lovely way to spend a wet Sunday morning - thanks guys!

Я тоже не любила джаз раньше, пока не послушала Луи Армстронг. Луи настоящий гений джаза🎺🎷🎶
Jazz music is not jazz dance. And THIS IS JAZZ DANCE
OMGoodness, each and every dancer is wonderful, so expressive, talented just terrific...makes me "giddy" with pleasure...thanks so much for displaying these terrific, beautiful dancers.....
As an old choreographer. now nearly 70, this was mighty impressive.
Absolutely Love this footage and choreography!!! It so reminds me when JAZZ was JAZZ back in the day when I first studied modern jazz and taught!! So much feeling and expression ...Awesome!!
Absolutely! This is a wonderful tribute 🎩💌
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!!! Love how you use the accents in the music, love how you translate the music into movement, love the enthusiasm of the dancers, love the steps, love the passion, love everything! Watched it over and over again!!!
While jazz isn't my preferred music to just listen to, I love watching people dance to jazz. There is just something sensual about jazz.
nice and thanks for not having Tatoos, BubbleArses, made up lips and t1ts, just gorgeous hard working dancers ♥
Agreed 👍
Maitrise, prestance, quel ensemble, Bravo. Coordination parfaite. Du grand ART .Musique au top .

Emma is definitely ready for "The Great White Way"! She has a real talent for drawing the attitude out of her dancers.

Bob Fosse is my favorite choreographer. The second set was obviously his style. I spent a lot of time doing musical theater.😅
Guys and Dolls AND some Fosse? Oh, heck yeah!
Thanks, Ms. Sherer. I'm not even a dance fan, but I enjoyed this! Cheers, and looking forward to more contributions!
Beautifully controlled dancing!

Glorious camera work and editing!

Happiness is dancing.
Line dancing has come along way in the past couple of decades
Nothing like Jazz!💖💖💖
