Elizabeth has the best AI mechanics out of every game that I've played. She doesn't feel tethered to you but rather has a mind of her own. She becomes so much more than just a supporting character.
Her being missing in part of the game after booker has her as a companion really adds to that fact. There is no infinite without her as your companion!
I could not agree more, I fell in love with this game, the story, the characters, the music. This is the best game I have ever played. It feels even better knowing that I followed the development of this game year ahead of its release.
After all these years, for me, this is still the gold standard of how to bring an NPC to life to the point where you can't even tell it's not a real person. Don't think I've seen anything remotely close to this in any other game. It is as if everyone did their job flawlessly somehow.
Kens writing is amazing, Elizabeth always felt like a real person fighting by my side, and I could always tell when she wasn't happy, or when she was in a bad mood, it was a great experience. I hope the other guys making the new bioshock care as much as irrational/ghost story do 🙏🤙

From what I've gathered, a lot of her lines during the game come from a spontaneous collaborative effort between Ken Levine and Courtnee Draper during the recording sessions. Other than that I believe that Ken Levine was the major creative director/writer behind the character, but I can't be sure. None of the sources I could find mentioned a writer specifically for Elizabeth.
I would like to give thanks to the people in this vid, they did a fantastic job with Elizabeth, and I can confirm on my account at least that you do get connected to her in the game, can tell when she is absent from battle, and find yourself looking at her in situations to see what she may take on it. Elizabeth makes Bioshock, she's so detail'd, from coughing around cig smoke to asking me if I'm ok because I'm taking to long in the bathroom. No other AI has been made so detailed. Good job. /clap
The last few seconds remind me of the Hero's dog in Fable 2: happy to be around you, helps you in situations, fights at your side and then dies at the end of the game. :'(

Never played an escort mission before where I feel the one being escorted. I think Irrational really hit a homerun with Liz. This game is a joy to play.
3:45 _This._ I played through Mirror's Edge from start to finish the same day I finished Bioshock Infinite. A majority of the in-game cutscenes in Mirror's Edge were motion-captured in a way that was distracting and took a bit of the immersion out of it. Compared to Infinite's cutscenes and its AI relation to the level environment really made you feel a part of the universe.
The actor is Troy Baker, who is one of the most prolific v.o. actors in gaming. They've done many interviews with him. They're concentrating on Elizabeth because you actually see her and the weak links in most games are NPCs. This might not be the case with this game. She's also beautiful.

The big importance of Alyx in Half Life 2 has definitely shaped Elizabeth for Bioshock Infinite, I really can't wait to adventure with a smart character next to me again.
Elizabeth passing coins, health-kit, ammo, and their private conversations when being idle are one the finest executions in the game. Love it.
