FE6 Barth not leveling HP

  • In the several hundreds or even thousands of fights I went through, I had these 3 level ups in which Barth did not level up HP. This should not be possible, as Barth's HP growth is 100% and thus should always trigger whenever Barth levels up, unless his stat is maxed out, which isn't my case. I'm uncertain what could be the cause here.

    "Hp is at 100% , which means he'll always get a point at hp by leveling up" yeah, sure, whoisthisgit

      To be fair, this bug is very very rare (much more so than Barth's resistance growth), and prior to this video, it had been probably completely undocumented. I have tried to look up potential causes for this, but couldn't find anything about it.

      @@maskolino3533 I don't remember, maybe like 2 hours for the first two, and then another 3 hours for the third one? It happened a while back. All I remember is that the first two glitched level ups were consecutive with nothing inbetween them, whereas the third glitched level up happened much later on. Other than these three glitched level ups, I haven't encountered this at all, which should give you an idea how absurdly rare this is.

    Presumably this is another manifestation of the ultra rare 100% miss bug, made slightly more common by the fact that the growths are single roll RNG compared to attacks.

  • @rpgnerd7610
    @rpgnerd7610 Před 3 lety +44

    Yeah the Fe 6 RNs is a little bugged as in, It can roll double 100s meaning you can miss 100%

    • @gspannman
      @gspannman Před 3 lety +3

      While technically possible, the way the RNG system in FE6 is bugged makes it so that a 100 is generated at a much lower rate than any of the other values (0-99) making it nigh impossible to actually miss a 100 when rolling a 2 RN interaction especially since it needs to generate both 100s adjacent in the RNG queue. Staves and Level ups run on 1 RN so you'll be able to actually see 100s miss with those, but there has never been a legitimate recorded 100 accuracy miss on a normal attack.

      @@AGZhark An enemy hitting a 10% is completely irrelevant, It's just a very lucky bandit given it has a 2.10% true hit. While a lot of people like to scream "elitist" at mekkah and FE LTC or 0% growth players, the fact of the matter is they know the game far better than the average player and recognize when they've fallen for the ">50% is basically a miss" trap that a lot of people jump to when they see an unlikely occurance. I suggest mekkah's fire emblem pitfalls series if you'd like to better educate yourself on the hit rate system in general as it has generally helped players, new and veteran alike, recognize that the game isn't cheating them when something unlikely takes them by surprise.

    Wouldn't it be funny if Barth managed to get RES and not get HP in a level up? Getting a 2% growth then not getting a "100%" growth.

  • @QuickSmasherEXE
    @QuickSmasherEXE Před 3 lety +19

    Some people in the comments have mentioned that you can miss a 100% in FE6, and I feel I should clarify some things. You can miss at 100% hit rate with status staves, but not regular attacks. This is because status staves (and HP growths) roll one number, while regular attacks roll two numbers and use the average of that. In order to miss a 100% hit rate with a regular attack, there would have to be two consecutive 100s, but since FE6 pulls its random numbers from a pre-set list we know for certain that no such sequence exists.

      Didn't Mekkah RNG abuse FE6 to get Rutger to miss a 100% hit?

    If an Axe Fighter with 38 displayed hit against an Armor Knight isn't the perfect image to represent FE6, I don't know what is
    And the FE6 RNG is bugged, it's rolling 100 on his HP growth when it's supposed to roll a number from 0-99, and because 100 is not lower than 100, you're missing the gain

    • @smaragdchaos
      @smaragdchaos  Před 3 lety +1

      Barth had maxed out supports, that's why the hit rates were so lopsided

  • @AMH9000
    @AMH9000 Před 3 lety +4

    I think that there's yet another bug related to the RN when it comes to level ups specifically. if the RN given is 0 for a level up, the stat doesn't level up, therefore all growths are technically 1% lower due to 0 not working
    Not entire sure about this tho, and I'm not sure how to test it

  • @pivotkid908
    @pivotkid908 Před 4 lety +6

    Maybe this is related to how FE6 rolls numbers between 0 and 100 instead of 0 to 99 for FE7 and 8? (reference: FE pitfalls 9, 4:04)
    My theory is, similar to how 1RN hit is determined, for each stat the game assigns an rn and checks whether the rn is less than the growth (%), and in cases this is true assigns a point. Then rolling a 100 for HP would result in no HP, however that would make the actual chances over 101 instead of 100. I'm pretty sure that would go under the radar though because the people who collected samples to get peoples' growths expect growths to be multiples of 5, and the maximum difference between x/101 and x/100 is 1/101 or basically 1%. They would believe that to be within variance, round and forget it. It would take an incredibly large sample size to have very high confidence the actual chance is x/101 and not x/100, I know I'm not going to try.
