- In this video I am installing an ISUDAR Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto into my Skoda Rapid 2016. I paid for this unit myself and it is not a sponsored video. I just thought it was hard to find the right information on this unit, so figured I would make a video myself.
ISUDAR contacted me after I made the video to provide a discount code for people that want to buy it too. If you use the code PB2023 using one of the links below, you get a 12% discount:

I have similar box in my Octavia and my box needs one additional wire from the reverse lamp positive to the cable on the power extender cable, it has one dedicated point.
It works well with DSG cars, but with manual gearbox, you need to connect this wire, if you want to see the radars or reverse camera, when you set the reverse gear.
Yeah I found out about this too. Ended up being lazy and just pressing the connect button on my unit instead whenever I want to see the reverse sensors
Great video bro - waiting on my unit to come before I install it. My MIB2 unit is in the glovebox aswell so it’s great having a 1:1 guide👍🏼
Glad I could be of help. I’ve been happy with it😊
@@t-ken3hiya, my MIB unit should be arriving today and I was just doing some research on the guide the company sent me when shipping it out. It shows the DIP switch settings for 5.8” 7” and 8” display, however I have a 6.5”. Is there any work around this or will I have to return it. The company did say it’s compatible with my head unit (although I didn’t tell them the size, I showed a picture to them). Would if just be a matter of messing around with the switches?
Mine said the same, but I have a 6,5 inch screen aswell and it works great 😊
Me gusta, tengo un skoda octavia 2015 bib1 , espero que valla bien😅
I hope it works out!
Thanks for this video! Really helpful :) Quick question: Do you know if there's a way to get the carplay Google Maps directions displayed in the maxidot display? (as is with the standard satnav directions?)
As far as I am aware that is not possible, since the MDF is not connected to CarPlay in any way with this solution
@@t-ken3 Allright, I was kinda expecting this, but asked anyway.
I do have another question: Do you know if there's a way to adjust the brightness of the screen? Especially at night it can be too bright for me..
Good question, I believe the brightness just follows the brightness of the car screen so i guess it should be possible! I never had it be bright in the night and I’ve driven in the dark plenty with CarPlay on
@@t-ken3 ok, thats good to know. I'll check. Thanks!
Thanks for the video man really helpfull.as a 2014 rapid owner i'm having trouble with the cup holder underneath the a/c buttons.the size is so unusable, have you found an aftermarket replacementfor the whole part?i've seen such aftermarket (aliexpress) replacements for the kodiac/qamiq with adittional wireless charging etc.if you come across one plz hit me up with a message,i would greatly appreciate it.
That actually is a brilliant idea, to have a wireless charger down there. I haven’t looked for any myself to be honest. The one thing I did notice when I have my phone laying there for long drives whilst connected to wireless CarPlay and the heater on 22-23 degrees during cold days, my iPhone does get quite hot as it blows hot air in there. On those days I leave my phone in the little compartment under the handbrake instead.
Thanks for the video, however my Carplay box still gets power even when i turn off the engine and remove my key from the ignition. Do you know what the fix is?
I don’t know I am just a consumer that bought it like yourself, for me it turns off when I remove the key. Maybe you can contact their customer service?
hello man, dont you know if its compatible with Canton SoundSystem? thanks
Hey, I am not sure. But I am playing sound back trough the original Bluetooth when it’s connected to CarPlay so I wouldn’t see why it wouldn’t work. Maybe you can ask their costumer service
Does calling use the car microphone or a seperate input? I have seem some wiring diagrams that show an optional mic input. Basically if i am using carplay and take a call, is call quality ok?
It just plugs into the cars mic and it works great for me. I take calls with it all the time
@@t-ken3 thanks for the reply. Have you tested the factory usb switch function? Does that allow you to plug into the car's usb and use AA wired through that?
I actually am not sure as I only use it in wireless CarPlay mode. I have yet to connect it trough usb
@@t-ken3 great thanks for the reply great video
Hello, can you tell me a module for Toyota Proace 2018?
Hi there, I am not sure to be honest. I have a Skoda myself, not sure if they make modules for a Toyota Proace aswell
Does it add the option for reverse camera ?
Do you mean if it supports reverse cameras?
Does it retains original microphone for calls?
For mine it does 😊 Phonecalls work great
Does original FM radio works when you are in carplay?
I actually haven’t tried, but I see no reason why not. However then you won’t be able to hear the CarPlay sound as the sound has to be on Aux for the sound to work. I would just use a radio app on the phone instead, that’s better quality anyway.
@@t-ken3 yes but carplay fm requires mobile data for internet connection. I can't get an internet signal on some roads only fm radio
@@t-ken3 It would be nice if you could check before I purchase the unit?
Ill check that for you! I’m home tonight, I’ll try not to forget 😅 if I haven’t replied tomorrow, please follow up with a comment here to remind me 😊
@@t-ken3 Thank you very much. 😀
En la funcion de android puesdes instalar aplicaciones?
I believe it works as any other Android Auto, so it should work with apps that support it, but I have an iPhone so I have not tried it with an Android phone just yet. If you want me to test something specifically let me know, I’m happy to give it a try.
@@ra926sounds good. I use the Waze app for speed control et, that works great
@@ra926 RadarBot works on Android Auto, but has to have the premium version
