Lessov, a veteran contributor to Silk and label boss of the wonderful Portrait Digital, returns to our imprint with a triumphant follow-up of his "Bleyban" EP, one of Silk Textures' most supported and beloved releases to date. Three deep and progressive gems are contained with "Life Force", the brand new EP from the Canadian virtuoso.
Kicking off the release, "Oppalarum" (finally in unmixed, DJ-friendly form) has been highly anticipated by fans, since first appearing as the set opener of Shingo Nakamura's "Only Silk 03 (Pt. Two)" mix, earlier this year. Lessov's gift as a composer and sound designer is on full display here: he has crafted an evocative soundscape that transports the listener to a mystical, dreamlike world. The soulful melodies and, above all, vivid atmospheric touches throughout the track are expertly crafted and will truly inspire awe in the listener. The subsequent cut, "Tilati", is a sensual and deep (sonic) affair from its earliest moments. The warm and "organic" aura of the track is developed once again by Lessov, thanks to brilliant bass processing, not to mention elegant vocal and pad-based effects. Rounding out the release, "Velkora" is a gorgeous after-hours track, centering on a deep, yet buoyant groove. A veritable clinic of sound design, the track will please discriminating listeners, who enjoy a wide array of exotic instruments, world music samples, and other unique effects.
