Imagine speccing dps teeth and not getting the regen perk, the absolute state of this server
infected by noob players who probably survive extinction too thanks to human intervention.
Tell that to the ex Smilodon players
Samuel Sanford I hear the W40K server has some ridiculous stuff too, though I’ve heard rumors of Outside servers that don’t use the Earth setting that are crazy; haven’t seen any solid evidence they exist, though.
Part of the issue is that due to early mammal mains focusing on nocturnal rogue gameplay, a lot of really good abilities were lost, and had to be regained. Combine this with how much more complex teeth in many mammals are, and you see where some of the tradeoff went
It's just glass cannon grief builds.

@@Staremperor yeah i play in the nordic servers. Very cold especially during fall, winter and early spring
@@mrpekoni Then, I understand your point allocation. Here in central Europe I rarely see harsh winter, so different stats are worthwhile.

Can we talk about how Humans have been top tier for what feels like thousands of years, but still keep getting buffed?
Humans are going to get nerfed soon, by the "out of resource" debuff, that is going to stop the growth of the winning streak.
Humans kept getting nerfs, but they're main perks are their high intelligence stats, in most of the servers, the intelligence stat is the most broken stat to ever exist, sure it needs a build that accommodate with that high intelligence, but when played right, it'll dominate the server. That's why it was so high in the tier list.
When your intelligence becomes high enough you unlock the ability to install mods and hack into the source code. It grants humans abilities that even the devs couldn't program into the game.
@@SoupTurtle16 People keep predicting this nerf, but it never comes. There was the Malthusian update, the Peak Oil update and the Population Bomb update that kept getting hyped but were never released. The Climate Change update has at least been released and it seems like it might have a shot but it might get wound back a bit by the devs because of the renewable energy workaround.
Because they have so many experience sources only available for their use.
Also they have been spawning so many new players for last few hundred years
What about how female ferrets will LITERALLY DIE of aplastic anemia if they don't mate...
That's gotta be one of the cruelest jokes the devs have ever played
That sounds like a positive mechanic for the build. It weeds out the casual female players that are not interested in gaining evolution points at a rapid rate, leaving only the try hard players to min max the server.
@@LegDayLas Idk man, I'd settle for some other debuff as a punishment mechanism, a whole game over just seems kinda harsh. It's like adding a "sex meter" to survival mode, on top of food/water/sleep etc xD
^
@ShilohSays Its true
and for this reason female ferrets are neutered to be pets, unless they are used for breeding
@@LegDayLas Not for the female, given that Ferret sex is essentially rape by any other name.
Hey everyone, super embarrassing mistake in this video. The day does not last longer than the night in most places. That's how seasons work. I need to retake astronomy 101.
TierZoo No problem bud, mistakes happen, aside from that, absolutely fantastic and extremely entertaining as well as informative video as always :)
Your whole concept is so awesome the mistakes are minuscule.
or maybe you were keeping some hidden updates from us that the devs let you beta test
Yes I was tempted to correct you on that one. Although, because of Earth's atmosphere making twilight possible, one could argue that we have more daytime than nighttime including our dusk and dawn twilight hours, and the effect exaggerates more the further you travel from the equator.
Also a little strange to lump the crow and octopus together. Crows can live 20-30 years in the wild and octopus only live 2-3 years.

What about: single-cell playerbases?
I've heard of full grown adult human builds that get decimated by OP amoeba griefers
Elliott Barth yeah those players are OP, especially with the rise of spawnkillers old builds like measles and polio and smallpox are coming back
Single-cell anti-human meta achieved its full potential during the middle ages, but they almost destroyed their own source of food.
those guys just zerg rush B cyka other builds to win, and even then you have the passive "white cell" to keep that from happening
They might be op but I can only imagine how boring the gameplay is
Humans are crafting more and more tools that can wipe out a whole team of them, or even gain absolute resistance to single cell damage. Look at the flu; just less than 100 years back they can easily kill a human, but nowadays we gained resistance to most of them. Sadly some 12 year old dumbass kid players refuse to equip those tools because they read a rumor somewhere that equipping them gives you serious debuffs, and now old single cell builds are coming back
I facepalm when I see mid to late game humans with builds centred around the Rage ability. The extra physical damage has long since fallen off, it cuts your intelligence and accuracy in half while active, prevents you from running away and it stops you running far better abilities like Precision or Focus.
Rage is best used as a last resort but if you center your entire build around it you're going to have a bad time.
Legend has it that a subspecies called Homo Idioticus, or the Karen, is among the human playerbase wreaking havoc. It's a wonder it's not extinct. I think it's main abilities are Wanting to speak to the manager and calling the law for no apparent reason. But that's just some random speculation.
Edit:One incorrect thing. Some high tier playerbases center their build around rage and do well(Bears, Badgers, Bovines, Rhinos, etc.)
rage? never heard of the ability
@@archenhailor pfft. i bet ur a lvl 1 pacifist build. evrybody here uses rage, super gud if u balance it w intelligence and strength then u just activate it 4 a 60 second berserk phase granting every player within 10 metres the fear effect and +50% dmg 4 u. but if ur thinking of getting it i recommend to grind skill points 4 rage by playing the call of duty minigame.

So going nocturnal is a poor strategy employed by antisocial players who have trouble dealing with the stresses of a changing environment? Man, tell me about it.
It's The Game's version of the MMORPG carebear ;).

The whole tooth regeration thing is something that's always bugged me. How on earth is it that our nails constantly grow but our teeth dont'? Like, teeth are WAY more valuable to us!
I can't argue with how unoptimized our teeth are, and I agree they need some kind of regeneration, but I think you are severely underestimating nails and I would like to offer a different, but admittedly uninformed perspective.
TLDR: Small tools are the most relevant to simians, and fingernails let them use small tools better than even most birds
Since our fingers' small size make them really squishy, reinforcing them with an exoskeleton of sorts massively increases our precision, dexterity, and maximum grip strength with the pinch move, primarily against small objects. This makes us just as proficient with small tools as we are with large ones, which is important since small tools are the most relevant for the tasks simians need tools for. As a result, having nails to reliably use small tools is arguably why simians are reliable tool users in general

Chimp would be a much stronger build if they invested into the "teach" perk. They already have the learn perk, monkey see monkey do, but unlike humans they dont have the "teach" perk. This makes it harder for them to learn off each other and limits learning. I would like to see other builds become as intelligent as humans, we are getting pretty lonely in this meta.
Chimps DO teach things to each other. The main difference between them and us (apart from certain degree of intelligence) is writing and literature, which perpetuates knowledge. Also I think they don´t have the ability to speak which is also very important but i´m not sure
@@ignaciochoperena9718 no they dont teach each other, they just learn from eachothers actions. Monkey see, monkey do... Monkey dont instruct, monkeyt don't explain. Humans have a desire to share knowledge that monkeys don't.
@@Domieboy How do you want them to explain things to each other if they can't even talk neither they have a common language to understand what the other Is trying to tell him. It Is just primitive teaching, we used to do the same and many other animals do aswell
I would actually like to see something other than intelligence be meta. I suggest putting a new mechanic in that can better counter it thus giving other playstyles a chance to shine
@@Domieboy
Your argument is a little fragmented. Yes, monkeys do adopt the "monkey see, monkey do". But we can't assume there isn't any instruction due to that. Instruction can occur through imitation or bodily gestures.
What they lack is the ability of speech and complex language.
I think many of the ape families teach, I'm guessing a majority of the mammal species also teach. Teaching is an ability that was discovered and specced into, much before the homo sapiens patch rolled around. As far as I understand.

See, this is a problem I always have with these types of games. Maybe if a few character options were improved things would be better, but as it stands now some options just aren't playable competitively. The devs should balance the game instead of giving us updates no one wants like that Coronavirus event.
The corona virus event was only bad for the human class, many animals benefited from not having anyone on the streets to be able to reproduce or get food
Thing is,the lore of the current human meta included World Of Warcraft,in which those human devs accidentally created a plague of their own,and the results of that were actually beneficial to all the medical focussed sections of the human meta when it came to human psychology.
However, the self-Nerfing of humans by other humans through things like the cursed item TikTok caused a large loss in higher inteligence in exchange for more in game currency created an unusual occurrence where players would just keep on grinding dangerously despite their HP being low(which requires proper rest to get back),which simply helped the Corona-chan players to go literally viral.
Had the human players simply chose to stay in their home regions and hunkered down with their guild members, the Covid-19 update would've been just another update.
Humans frequently team kill each other.

Ugh, Gazelle mains are the worst.
No, the cheetah is just a bad design. Or at least a subpar one.
In Africa they've got to compete with lions, hyenas, and african wild dogs, all of which are more efficient hunters, multiply their fighting abilities through cooperation, and require less space per individual to survive. Not to mention all of them can take down larger prey than the cheetah.
The cheetah simply isn't good enough.
Gazelle players are so over-tiered by comparison that some will taunt with an emote while evading cheetah players. (Look up stotting, where gazelles jump and stiffen their bodies seemingly without reason, seems to be used to intimidate/taunt cheetah into giving up their chase.

Did the debuff get cleansed?
As a Hummingbird main, I would like to point out a flaw from the stamina portion that you might have forgotten. Torpor is mainly an ability hummingbird mains need in order to log out or whenever they become AFK. The devs had been strategic about it, so that each time torpor is used to rest, at most 10% of weight loss occurs. When there is no food around, Hummingbirds can willingly lower their temperature and heartbeat in order to wait for nectar deposits to replenish or small insects to come. Torpor also allows the preservation of glucose, water, and nutrients, letting them replenish HP at a slow rate. Furthermore, resting is a main part of a hummingbirds day, for flying around all day is costly to a hummingbird’s health. I hope you will be able to take this into consideration, instead of jumping the gun and saying the movement is inefficient.

Places like on the equator you have 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night every day of the year. The further away you are from the equator the more it varies in the summer/winter but if you add it all together it still averages out to 12 hours day/12 hour night. I disagree about the tooth regeneration.
Teeth that can’t be replaced have their own advantage: they are more complex than replaceable teeth, which in exchange requires more EXP.
It’s a trade off with a big advantage and a big disadvantage that mammals found to be the better choice.
And constantly growing teeth have a reason being in rodent and herbivore classes because of the constant need to chew tough plants, which unlike most fruits and meat, drastically wear down the teeth.
I think hooves are more problematic than constantly growing teeth because unlike them where the negative effects a softer diet can be countered by chewing things, a change in the biome you play in will result in either them growing too much without help from a human teammate or wear down. But at the end of the day they still have their own advantage.
solid counterpoint tbh
TierZoo
Yeah, with humans being so dominant lately, a lot of people forget how unconventional a lot of the mammal guild picks were at first. Heck, their night time gameplay early on is part of why mammals have to worry about sunlight based damage in long term, or why most have a more basic vision setup that focuses more on picking out movement
Umm then come sharks boii
@@gonzalo4842 Did you know that since sharks evolved before scales became a thing their skin is made of teeth?
i highly disagree with the advantages of non regenerating teeth outweighing tooth regeneration. non generating teeth require maintenance which only one species has the intelligence and dexterity required to do.
i mean even the most dominant non regenerating build in the current meta understands the importance of tooth regeneration, so much so that humans have started to patch up or replace defective teeth, no sane human player would complain about having tooth regeneration.

Do you mean all animals that have social structures or eusocial in specific?
Ara Era either would be a cool video but yeah I did mainly mean I wanted a eusocial animal tier list
Why is teaming not banned >:(
We've been asking for years
This made me realize how crucial it is for avian classes to invest in stamina and the glide skill
This is my first video I ‘ve seen of yours and I already am hooked! This content is outstanding 👍
Spore with multiplayer could have been this game .
too bad EA destroyed it.
To be fair, a majority of unpopular decisions were actually made by Will Wright himself, not EA. For once, it wasn't them.
Spore was alright.
Even though I hate EA, Spore was a mess because half the team wanted to make a gritty realistic evolution simulator, and the other wanted to make a cutesy funny animal creator
@RED Engineer Dunno, ask them
"This game" has a name. Haven't you heard of Outside?
That dont starve humming bird skit is so great!
haha i know right! makes me a bit nostalgic of when i used to play it
Confession: I mostly watch these videos for the battle health bars and silly sound effects. Always makes me chuckle :)
I agree, those sound effects are so hilarious for some reason.
This is a really late comment, but I truly appreciate the Humming Bird segment with the Don't Starve UI and sounds. Very classy.
Actually, human data miners and marine scouts have collected Twitch clips and screenshots of dolphins using sponge players as beak shields, letting them safely scavenge the seafloor
On the one hand... that's really clever. On the other hand... I kinda feel bad for the sponges... that's griefing, surely?
Dolphin players are the most sociopathic of builds
Hardly the only shenanigans dolphin players get up to. They've also been known to bite pufferfish players, intentionally proccing the hallucinating condition on themselves just for the fun of it.

This channel has the best transitions into sponsorships possible 😂
I would beg to differ! Ithink Thoughty2 does.
Some of us don't appreciate sudden hawking, pun semi-intended.
Yeah, I prefer ads to be at the beginning because then I can skip them easily instead of suddenly appearing after I am already immersed in the video. I understand you need ads for money and that's fine but I have no interest in wix or squarespace or whatever else you care to advertise. The smooth transition everyone else seems to love is just jarring to me and makes me weary to get too "into" the video because I know a sneaky ad I don't care about is just waiting to pop up and take me out of it. It's one of the reasons I never watch TV anymore, were you really getting into that new Game Of Thrones episode? too bad man here's the same ad you just saw 20 minutes ago to ruin the flow.
i hate them, instead of a nice conclusion, this style ends so apruptly, it always feels like i have seen only the first half of a video.
Justice Countryman I’m afraid you are mistaken, as Sam O’Nella is Clearly the Chad of ads
I don't know how I've only just found this channel, but I absolutely ADORE it. I tip my hat to you, good sir.
It's so unrealistic that humans are the most powerful even though they only have the most Intelligence and Endurance. You'd think that they'd get nerfed after the Nomad update but they only got more buffed every update! I swear the developers are so one-sided, it's gotten to the point where a Lvl. 50 Human is WAY better than a Lvl. 100 Polar Bear due to the gunpowder update. And I swear, don't even get me started on the Nuclear update, I pretty much threw out my copy of the game after that update came out.
TestedHawk well, we are erred. We are emotional. Because of our emotions get in the way of things survival could become even harder.
We have to hope for a meteor reboot
It’s unrealistic that the species that spec’ed the most into the most valuable stat in the game, is the most powerful?
There is a couple of counters if you want to get back at humans
1.play a virus main(covid, black plague, malaria, etc)
2.Carry a disease as a mosquito
3.Play a cassowary
4.Play in a human team and then team kill
Just wait until the Aliens DLC I hear that's going to change the tier-list significantly
I love the don't starve reference you threw in there

Hummingbirds can go insane?!
@@yes9691 That's why hummingbirds are only present in Don't Starve's oldest builds.
TierZoo keeps bragging about the human class I'm starting to think his main is human
Humans are ez mode, i love the shark build
Im a Sea Turtle main. I like playing defense.
Doubtful. Tierzoo sounds like a classy feller, not one of them kids that rerolls FOTM after every server patch.
I get why he likes the Human class so much as they can do a lot with their abilities which is why it's my main too.
@@girlgarde Yea... humans are OP but they created a resource they HAVE to get to survive. Its called money.
THE DON'T STARVE CHARACTER AUDIO AND LIL UI DRAWINGS... MY FAVORITE THINGS OMG
Oh my GOD that opening and ending was SUCH a nostalgia trip! I haven't heard that theme in almost 20 YEARS!!!!
>needs an enegy source every 10 minutes

I love you tierzoo
How about a video on pure maxing?
Are there many builds that uses all their evolution points on one skill?
kaptainFantastic sloths invest all their evolution points in their sleep capacity.
Humans in intelligence.
Killercrab 2007 we go so much intelligence that suddenly some are losing intelligence

Just imagine when you die it just says "play again or change character"
If chetahs evolve to sweat they'd be so Op, wonder why they haven't already

Mykel Hardin Dork, or nerd?
there are two ways to define a ”nerd”;
a foolish or contemptible person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious.
a single-minded expert in a particular technical field.
now which one fits mr.tierzoo the most? ^^
snailgirl6 someone should make this into a game
its by far my favourite channel. Animal planet and discovery channel cannot compre on how much I relate to this whole the world is a game thing. Its brilliant, the idea and how you make it its even better. you trick us all into learning and it feels so damn good. Congratulations I hope you rule the Meta someday
They really should play this in schools. They should pay this guy to make more frequent videos and have entire sets of videos as lessons they can use in elementary school.
This got me curious, why are we endlessly regenerating our nails? Like i get protecting the skin underneath the nail but the nails being extra large dosen't really help with anything, not even attack because that's why we punch it deals more damage than scratching.
Imagine not getting enough exp. so you opt for the meta equivalent of a D&D mimic. Insect s think yay food the get eaten. Such is the style of carnivorous plants. Please cover this unique play style.
Plants technically count as loot so in this case Venus fly traps are literally mimics
Dinosaurus Rex, you're a genius

Hey, could you do a video on the different XP needs of animals? For example I found it interesting that Orcas need around 85.000 kcal per day to survive. I'd find it pretty interesting to find out about other animals and what strategies might be used to minimize XP needs/maximize XP intake
Ooh, there's an idea.
Just farm and grind bruh
Humans have already done the min/maxing on this. The "fast food" or "junk food" classes of consumables are insanely high in XP (though they come with some serious debuffs if consumed too frequently). Meanwhile, humans have built their society in such a way that it's fairly easy, even common, to survive without expending much energy.
Please refer to DougDoug's Skyrim Marriage% speedrun video.
Loving all the content. creative and original perspective.
Explaining the world with video game logic is a hobby from me as well.
