Apparently Bowie liked Kurt's version. "I was simply blown away when I found that Kurt Cobain liked my work, and have always wanted to talk to him about his reasons for covering 'The Man Who Sold the World'" and that "it was a good straight forward rendition and sounded somehow very honest. It would have been nice to have worked with him, but just talking with him would have been real cool."
Bowie called Nirvana's cover "heartfelt".
"If the mark of a good cover is that people do not even realize it's a cover, Nirvana certainly did a good job"
Very cool. Thanks for sharing that

Yeah😢
ah yes,
Curt Kobain.
Bowie (as far as i know) wrote this song with the influence of his brother, who was a cultured and intelligent young man that had dealt with serious mental health issues. Bowie had a good relationship with him, he also introduced many aspects of art and philosophy to Bowie, definitely influencing Bowie’s art. Bowie told that his brother would sometimes go on long trips and dissappear for long times. One day he went on another one of these trips, and eventually committed suicide by lying on the railway.
RIP to all those beatiful souls we lost who were fighting their own demons.

Loved this song back in the day---it's so strange. I'd never heard of it, even though I had been a Bowie fan at the time and thought I'd heard all his best stuff. Another sad and lovely song by Nirvana.
+mclarenV12 So what you are basically saying is that it is "smart" to OD on heroin and blow your head off in order to commit suicide, along with that you are sure that such a death would be painless.
How the fuck do you know what it is like to die with a bullet to your head even if you are high?
Where people mourn Kurt's death, you say that it is smart to die in such a manner and not to tolerate certain bullshit that surrounds the artists. You must be depressed yourself for having said such crap.
+mclarenV12 You need to get a life dude. I was just talking about you not judging another person's way of committing suicide. Although that is true that people nowadays are becoming more and more narcissistic, but it has existed since the story came into existence.
Although your fake hypotheses is based upon your high school grade CNS based Biology which you have cleverly combined with your bullshit theory of dying while OD on drug in order to avoid any pain. You are no one to comment on that, fucking shithead.
My own grandfather succumbed to cancer and I know how painful and dreadful that disease is all about.
There are other people who have the will to survive as well.
I'd rather recommend you to stop making your fake hypotheses and pretending as if you are a mature 30 y.o. arse and stop whining over this ever changing society. Nothing is stagnant in this life, accept it as it comes to you rather than crying like a li'l bitch and saying that you are mature enough to understand things whilst all you are doing is crying and saying that it is "better to die" after having seen everything change around you. Thanks for reading, hope you get your peace in this life(or through death, whichever way you wanna choose, lmfao).
Get a life douche. #peace

With the man who sold the world
Is not " we walked a million hills" is "to all the million here we must have died alone" he just mumbled the words lol
@@JudgementKazzy87 it literally is correct how he said, dumbass it's the same on spotify
@@JudgementKazzy87 maybe it's like that on david's version but this version is different. covers don't need to be accurate
@@JudgementKazzy87 He does in fact say " we walked a million hills". you must mean the other version.
@@JudgementKazzy87 The lyrics of both songs (David Bowie and Nirvana) are different, in the first one Bowie speaks about how its dealing with his alter ego (Zigie Stardust, a role that he played in 70's) and the way how the alter ego and Bowie becomes one after he realizes the alter ego always have been with him; by the other hand, in Nirvana's version Kurt speaks that he accepts his "past me" but his "present me" can't coexist with him and now (sort of like their personalities are separating from each other), in the way that he sings it, he's resigned of how's his life and how he lost his path; we can see this subtrama in the way that in the first song starts with "I" and ends with "We" and in the second one, starts with "We" and ends with "I".
1:58 gets me EVERY-TIME the feedback. But hey let’s appreciate the acoustic electric sound! This song was not even meant to be.
