Cannot Start the PS4 - Safe Mode Loop - How to Fix

- In this video, I show how to fix the error "cannot start the ps4". Hold down the power button while the ps4 is off, until you hear 2 beeps. This will bring you to safe mode. Try one of the options in order to fix this. Update system software from internet, restore default settings, rebuild database, initialize ps4. The only one that will delete the data is the initialize PS4 option. Hope this helps! Leave a comment if you need any help.

I did get it to work I had to initialize it, basically a factory reset. Try to rebuild the data base first though.

Thank you so much for your video. When the safe mode loop happened to me I was stressed and had no idea what to do. I was scared of making the problem worse so I watched many videos. Yours was the only one that helped me understand what each of the options did. I tried it today, and thankfully restoring the default setting fixed it immediately. 😁

@@jerr123did you try default settings or rebuilding data base? I would recommend initialising as a last resort as it will erase your data.
I try the restore default setting when is done give a eror has occurred (SU-41336-7)

@@MarisDej4Vu I finally did it. I unplugged my PS4 cleaned it from outside and then I re plugged it and it said checking system storage after that it said can't start Ps4. I turned it off then afterwards I started and held button for 7 secs it went in safe mode then I rebuild data base and my data was safe

For all of u in need of help, I system initialize and rebuild data base my ps4, I did lose some of my data, u won't if u have ps plus and saved ur data, but for the games u need to sign into with an email address ur data will save. Hope this helps 🙏

@@iluvorange basically when turning the ps4 on dont press it, hold it down rather and then when it turns on you will see safe mode with a few options. Try update the software and installation and then it should restart and work 👍

Luckily I have all my games on my external HDD so all I had to do was download the save files / data from PS cloud. I hope this don't happen again but if it does at least I know what to do. How did you fix your problem and when did it start because if it is the same as mine can you explain
@@TeoAe. so my kids ps4 was in safe mode. How it happened? Only GOD knows lol. So the system stated that it needed to run an update and I needed an external update inserted into the USB port. Well I watched this video and the option I had to do was a hard reset. To do this you just need unplug the power supply from the ps4. Plug it back in, and do what's pretty much a factory reset. I believe it's option 7. Beware it will erase everything and reboot the system as if it's just purchased. Hope it works out for you.

Restore default settings did it for me. Didnt lose anything and it was very quick, hopefully this helps the next person avoid some frustration.
