    Seriously if I lived in that private community and I came across two teenagers fishing in that lake , the only thing I’d be asking is if they were getting any bites. Old bastard needs to take a chill pill. I don’t care that it was a private lake, he had no right in breaking that kids fishing rod. He’s just old , angry and a bully imo. If they weren’t hurting anyone and making assholes of themselves then I seriously don’t see a problem.

Everyone that owns property in the Gated Neighborhood has legal ownership of the lake and can use the lake along with the visitors of all of the property owners.

    What is wrong with that adult bullying two young kids who just want to fish and not causing any trouble out in the neighborhood, yes I understand they are on private property but who in their right mind would intimidate, physical touch the young kid and damage their property just because they are at a large lake fishing up against multiple properties, that man is a 100% narcissist.

"if" there is no public access or public easement to reach that location. otherwise yes its private property and they dont have permission to be there. however they can A. go ask any other homeowner to fish on their plot of land or B. find another location somewhere around the pond/lake.

    A $200 fishing rod, destruction of private property…you’re going to be posting bail Mr. Karen, and I’m getting a brand new fishing rod with psychological damages awarded. U fool! Even if you were the private owner of that property, the only legal recourse for you is to call the police and have had them arrested, not destruction of their property!

      None of that matters if the person(s) is trespassing on his land. they could simply walk next door and resume fishing then the man has zero say in the matter other than phoning police. the kids could also ask any other homeowner to fish on their plot of land. them standing there and not leaving (even if children) is considered a threat. the home owner can show force to protect himself/family/property.

Unless there is No Trespassing Signs Posted the Teenagers cannot be Charged with Trespassing since a Trespassing Charge requires people to be previously told to not be on the property.     May I ask.... why not be GENEROUS and say "Oh, a couple of 15 year old boys are fishing in my local pond. I used to fish when I was that age. It's no sweat to me one way or the other if they spend a couple of hours fishing there. Hey I hope they catch some fish and have a good time."
    Perhaps that is an entire foreign language to this man who is willing to take a fishing rod out of a 15 year old kid's hand

      It’s possible their grandparents or someone they know live in that community and had given them permission. There are several homes on the video so it seems pretty obvious it’s not his personal lake. And even if it was, this is not the way to handle it. Ask them to leave if you can’t handle kids fishing in the community lake, and if they don’t leave then call the authorities. Assaulting them and breaking their personal property is also against the law.

      Actually those lakes that are private have fish because someone spent time and money to make them that way. No matter what people think man made lakes don't just magically have game fish in them. It takes a good plan and lots of money to have a fishing lake. Not sure of the details on this one, but it is a common misconception of residents that the lakes belong to them. Specifically speaking, kid should have kicked the old man's balls into tomorrow.

    That’s easily a disorderly conduct charge on the man. The police would never charge those teens with trespassing. If the man had told the kids to leave his property without threatening them, even if he was rude about it, and the kids refused, then I think the cops would probably just make the kids leave.

      Assault is a crime. Asking them to leave and calling the authorities is not a crime. Two wrongs don’t make a right. This man is the adult here so even though he is not acting like one. He could have set an example here for the younger generation of how to handle things reasonably without resorting to assault. If these kids are on private property though and not leaving immediately when asked to do so then getting cocky while pulling out their phones to video tape they should be charged not only for trespass but for recording the property owner without his permission at least in my state they should be. When I was growing up and stumbled onto private property and homeowner confronted me I would apologize and leave immediately. The guy went slightly too far but these kids need to be taught a lesson that their parents obviously didn't. Once again, if they are on private property.

      The lake was located in a Gated Neighborhood. The Teenagers could of been visiting with relatives or friends that live in the Gated Neighborhood which means the Teenagers would be legally allowed to be fishing in the lake. Some Gated Neighborhoods have Lakes and Ponds located on the border of the Gated Neighborhoods which means the Lakes and Ponds have Public Access. The old Guy acted like an Arrogant Entitled Kevin aka Karen by Commiting the Crime of Destruction of Private Property by breaking the Teenager's fishing pole.
