They aren’t though they are just have infinitely more hours sunk in the gym plus natural genetic advantage. You put the amount of hours that an nba player has spent playing the game into an average guy and he’s either in the g-league or playing pro overseas but definitely d-1. The main thing is the unique size. Basketball is uniquely favorable for exceptionally tall individuals. It’s not the skill that’s unattainable it’s the size. Scalabrine is only closer to Lebron in the literal sense that he’s 6’9. If he was 8 inches shorter he’d be a nobody. He’d be the guys on the couch.

Nick was spot on talking about how agreement is not represented in our government, and wish he dove deeper into that. The issue in this country comes down to the polls themselves, and plurality voting. This is the very reason we are in a cycle where both candidates are incredibly unlikeable. You can't get rid of one as long as the other can be dragged down too. A system that actually incentivizes candidates to discuss agreements might actually get us somewhere. There needs to be more discussion about things like approval voting or STAR voting. Seems like both major parties want to avoid the topic though or dismiss it, because new systems would force them to change. Right now, they can afford to listen to only lobbyists if they wanted.

I coach high school ball in Queens... so i guess you can say i'm apart of the problem.... but the issue is systemic. Colleges are looking for flash, players are looking to play flashy and at these lower levels where students used to grind and out-work - using team wins and championships - as the metric... the kids are using THEIR PERSONAL boxscore stats and IG views as the metric for success. It's a team game but that's no longer how it is being sold. In my urban community, the mentality has always been that ball is a way out, only it's considered a solo sport. Team wins don't matter and players stats matter more than ever. The problem is that one man will never beat a team (unless you're Lebron James) and we no longer have a team mentality in society, let alone on the court.

Kids like Ja, Zion, RJ, Trae, Zo, Melo, and so are perfect examples of what this selfish, ego-driven game is right now. And none of those guys have a shot in hell of winning a Ring or an MVP for that matter. They don't know how to be a teammate, how to play together or what it takes to win because they grew up in the most selfish, egotistical, unhealthy, and hedonistic version of basketball. And it starts at the AAU level and local levels too. We have failed this generation of player and they have failed us. I feel for these young fans of the NBA because they're getting a really SHITTY product and even SHITTY ROLE MODELS. These "stars" are failures in my book.

This would be controversial but it would work... The NBA should prioritize the NCAA over all other leagues and require the NCAA players to stay 3 years before entering the Draft(similar to the NFL). The top 10 NBA LOTTERY picks should be rewarded to either 3 year NCAA starters or guys that played in other leagues for at least 4 years, starting at age 13 if you are talented enough to play in a MEN'S LEAGUE overseas. There needs to be a shakeup because the 1 and done is killing basketball, we can't know who you are if you play 25 games in college and then declare for the NBA DRAFT. There must be big, bold changes, this will improve the product. Think about all the fans who got to dislike Caitlin Clark over the past 3 years, the energy and emotion got to build up for a few years, that's GREAT for the game.

If lebron wants to get bronny drafted and learn from him i have no issue with that. I just question if that will really help. Bronny has had his entire life to learn from him and i doubt being on the lakers will make him taller. Seth got more looks because of his brother forsure but he also played 4 years in college with real playing time and averaged double digit points. It would be cool if bronny was a real nba player but it seems like he isnt and thats ok. lebron wants to give his kid the best shot and u cant have an issue with that. I just dont think itll work

On the fathers and sons thing... wouldn't being raised your entire life, literally a part of a sport, politics, acting, a trade, etc... make a person massively more knowledgeable even than someone schooled in these things? I mean, it is literally part of everything in human history, even people's names ("Shoemaker" for example)... families pass down knowledge to their offspring. So it's absolutely natural.
