Well done May. It's nice to see you remind us of that lock you opened. That could be a metaphor for life when you find a job to do don't give up at the first hurdle and find away around the tasks and challenges you have ahead and don't give up. Have a great week and now the better weather is coming you will be able to travel a bit more without to much worry
Yay! Windows done and although it's taken longer than you thought you've learnt new skills on the way and I love your determination! I think we can all learn something from your outlook on life. Take care 🌻🌼
I'm not as dedicated as some. Perfection only brings frustration to a mere mortal like myself. ' It'll do,' and ' I'll get around to it. " Both phrases I use a lot, to the frustration of some around me.
Secondary glazing for the winter is good also helps with condensation.i have perspex sheet fitted with magnetic strip except the porthole windows which have car door seal rubbers just push them in place
Love this video and your fabulous attitude May. I've hit subscribe, i need more boatie positivity in my life. I'm not going to insulate my windows, but enjoyed watching you do yours!! 😊😁
Hi May thanks for another great video. Your words are so very true, why does your mind make you think these things. Awesome job on insulating the windows, take care out there and stay safe 👍 😊.
All boats are different. The rebate you revealed there is normally already insulated on many craft, so your particular boat window surrounds are not typical.
Hi May. Measure every single one of your window frames ( the cut out part ) and take a trip to your local Double glazing window manufacturer ( you might even find more than one ). Have a friendly chat with them about the windows that could fit your frames ( many windows from their customers who have Old units replaced can be made to fit ),don’t forget it’s the Panel you want to fit because frames can always be made to fit but the glass is the most important part. 99% of replaced double glazed units from the customer are just recycled and smashed up and sent back to the Glass manufacturer ( some factories make the glass and the unit and frame ) but the majority just make the units after getting them delivered from somewhere else !!. If you are prepared to say have smaller windows with a big frame it’s surprisingly cheap ( the glass unit didn’t cost anything so you are just paying for the construction of the frame 🤷♂️). Even if you ordered Brand New Frames and glazing units, they will be extremely cheaper than if you bought them from a Boatyard ( about a 1/3 of the price ). And don’t forget a lot of these glazed windows that come from the customers are Heat retaining and directional. It’s always worth having a chat with them and having a conversation with other boat owners about buying them in bulk rather than a single order. Explain to the Company that you are prepared to do some Off Grid advertising for them because if these companies branch out into windows for narrowboats it would be rather lucrative for them, especially with the fact that more and more people are now swapping from the land to life on the water…. How many Narrow Boats do you know that are actually fitted with Double Glazing and the main reason they are not is because of the price that the boat builders are charging ?!!!. When you consider Currently how many Narrow Boats are on the water with single glazed glass but the owners would Love if they had Double Glazed ??.
WOW May, you have changed soo much since your fist video. Remember that video when you attempted to fix the leaking side hatch and your father helped out?? It is important to learn to love ones self and then one can let go of the need to feel accepted by others. Life is a nicer place when that happens. By the way there are a couple of new girls on the canal. Maybe you know them, Izzie and Cira on narrowboat Lavender. Looking forward to next week May. Mark Alberta, Canada
At the rate of change these days, when you are old and grey, and maybe bald, there will be brain implants, like in The Matrix movie, and the devices we have to day will be museum pieces.@@wellbeingonwater
The jigsaw puzzle of the window is now come to it's end, and when wind and the rain came calling they will find hard to beat your warm and cozy happy home.

Yes I do!! One day I’ll look back through all these and see so many changes a long the way! Hope CZcams is still around when I’m old and grey!

Fantastic job....May.
Thank you!
Very good DIY! 🎉
Thank you! 😊
There must be a reason why these narrow boats are not secondary glazed for winter ?
Seems to make sense to your thermal comfort if they were ! 😊😊😊😊
Gooood job can i ask alot of boaters use sikaflex is it not a narrowboat thing?
Not sure really!
It's better to be a few screws short than have a few screw loose
Haha love that

Hey 👋
Hey!
This is an old video isnt it?
Nope! Did one on taking out windows and putting them in. Similar but not the same
So you mean the video is less than 5 minutes?
Ok.
