  • Netball footwork rules are designed to ensure fair play and smooth game flow. When a player catches the ball, they must land on one foot, known as the landing foot. This foot must remain grounded while the other foot can be moved in any direction. Players can pivot on the landing foot, but lifting it and then re-grounding it before passing or shooting results in a footwork violation. If a player lands on both feet simultaneously, they may choose either foot as the landing foot. Adhering to these rules helps maintain the fast-paced and dynamic nature of netball.
