      As a 22 yr old who's been doing it for 3 and a half years, do something else I promise you you'll regret it. Yeah, sure it's a craft that has to be honed and that will make your labor worth more, but if you aren't running work you're making f*** all once you factor in weather. Do one of the hardest jobs, busting your ass in the sun, and 90% of people pushing pencils make more money. I'm an American and the only way to make good money is to do rat work and if your union catches you you're gone.

    • @hunternaas58
      @hunternaas58 Před 3 lety

    @kbultray Před 3 lety

    Great skills here, but as a complete novice, how do brickies keep each brick perpendicular ? I can see how working to a string line keeps em level, but front to back..........is it a trade secret ?

    • @hunternaas58
      @hunternaas58 Před 3 lety

      Whatcha mean front to back? If you're talking about the bond of the brick it's all eyeballed (half and whole typically). If you mean keeping the wall plumb, that's all done with the line as well. The face should be the lines with away from said line and cutting bed joint away shows if you're hacking. If it looks good at the joint but is far from the line it's leaning back and vise versa. In America we typically use speed poles starting out as opposes to leads to map courses and keep everything where it should be.
