  • jewelry design Here's another DIY project for how to make a cluster pearl and wire ring. This tutorial teaches you how to make a unique ring that can be personalized with whatever beads, gemstones or crystals that you like. With some wire and a few beads, you can have your own unique accessory that is tailored to your personality. So let's get started!
    Want to know what tools I suggest to get started making jewelry? Check out this link and see the tools I've picked out especially for you at kit.com
    kit.com/denisem...
    For the ring in the tutorial I used about 7 inches of 16 gauge gold tone wire, 50, 2-6mm pearls and 1 1/2 feet of 26 gauge wire for a size 7 ring. For the second ring I used 5 inches 16 gauge gold tone wire, 30, 6mm herkimer diamond beads(or double terminated quartz crystals beads) and 1 1/4 feet of 26 gauge wire for a size 5 finished ring . You can use a lighter gauge wire if you prefer but I wouldn’t go smaller than a 20 gauge for the ring frame as anything lighter maybe too flimsy. Use all one size or varying sizes beads for different looks.It’s also a great project for using tiny gemstone beads that are difficult to use. Have fun!

      By the way, where do you get your Herkimer Diamonds? Do you actually have to order them from Herkimer New York?

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  Před 5 lety +1

      Mine aren’t from New York, the place where I got them call them Herkimer Diamonds but they are from Pakistan so not exactly herkimer. They are also called double terminated crystal quartz beads, either way they are beautiful and much more economical than the Herkimer Diamonds from New York, here’s a link if you’re interested in buying some. www.etsy.com/ca/shop/DreamPendants 😊

    so pretty! do you recommend dead-soft or half-hard for the ring base?

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  Před 2 lety

      I always use dead soft so I can adjust the hardness after I make the ring 😊

    Girl.....Where have you been ? Love the rings..where do you get you pearls.? I noticed they are real , ..beautiful and Herkimer ( probably spelling it wrong) is very healthy to wear. I hope your doing well. Spring has sprung !!!!

    • @DeniseMathew
      @DeniseMathew  Před 5 lety +1

      All good here. We’ve been moving my youngest son home from university so a busy time. A lot of my pearls are from Thailand we went on a trip several years ago and I stocked up at this shop since the prices were insanely good, and the great thing about beads is that they never go bad. Yes, I’ve heard that Herkimer Diamonds are great and are supposed to be great if you’re doing a lot of computer work to combat against the electromagnetic pollution as well as boosting creativity. I made a bracelet for my mother and she absolutely loves it, they are exceptionally pretty stones but I couldn’t get a great picture to really show how lovely they are. Hope you’re well too, spring is grudgingly making its presence known, warm one day and flurries the next 😊
