    I appreciate your help in providing me a brief equation or rule of thumb to calculate the specific energy consumption as Kwh/Mt/Km , belt speed = 2.5 meter per second, trough angle = 30 , surcharge = 25, material = excavated soil (sand) , lump size less than 150 mm , density =1,550 kg/M3 , belt length = 5 Km (multiple flights ) , Flow = 3500 to 4,000 Mt/Hr , Route inclination= zero inclination, Width = 1,200 mm , considering these inputs , how much electricity will be consumed in electrical motor as Kwh per metric ton (Weight) per Km (distance)

      @@MahmoudAhmed-pv2hg we used a servo motor and we didn't actually focused on the conveyor cuz it was an unnecessary part of our project .. my main project was about a pneumatic gripper which we used as an inspection tool to grip a product running on the conveyor , weight it , then decide if it will drop it right or left according to its weight

    After put/multiply of coefficient friction (0.5) value are divided by lower value that is (1/2). I think friction value should be added in total weight because friction is decreased of this speed, than why? Ans please.

    • @hr5094
      @hr5094  Před rokem

      Yes its the same, first we calculate the total weight and multiply with coefficient friction.

    Hi sir! I want to ask, how do you determine the value of coefficient of friction? Is it constant 0.5?

    • @hr5094
      @hr5094  Před 3 lety +2

      Dear,
      Yes it is standard 0.5, as we know CEMA (Conveyor Equipment Manufacturer's Association) is also follow the same value for friction coefficient.

    • @guillaumelacalmontie2821
      @guillaumelacalmontie2821 Před 2 lety

      0.5 seems indeed excessive for idler rollers. I use that value with slider beds, it is pretty typical for steel vs. belt material. Just confirm with belt manufacturer since it depends on belt material and slider bed material.
      For idler rollers, I use 0.05. It is much higher than the equivalent friction factor in bearings but works well.
