Wow, awesome video and detailed description! This is super helpful as all your videos are. Thank you for all you do for other riders out there!
Great knowledge and nicely done! 👍👍
Awesome video thank you. Details about the product you bought and some of the tips with getting the axles out without special tools are very appreciated for me the home mechanic with limited tools.
Coffee and clutches this morning thanks for the video I’m gonna go pull a roller out right now to inspect. I appreciate the work you put into your videos to find good deals on tools and parts
@@mountainsleddergarage8627 sure enough, I had 2 bad rollers cages fell into pieces sled has 1,400 miles
I'm new to Ski Doo you made a very nice well descripted video thanks
Absolutely awesome, followed it to the letter, worked perfectly, hillbilly disassembly worked just like he said.
Sled should be ready for the year
Thanks
Awesome video
Thank you very helpful
Спасибо!
they are hands on clutches . high maintenance
Great video as always, I certainly couldn't do better or close to.
Just FYI for anyone who wants to just re-grease or replace dry/worn rollers you can do on the sled with no special tools in maybe 20 min. If have the tools great, then can clean the whole unit up but that's a hour for me anyways (+-20min of cursing at either the clutch refusing to come off the crank and/or the sheaves failing to separate once again!). I seem to be re-greasing every 1000-1500 miles or hard use. If you can buy a greaser unit, seem to get longer between services.
Oh and make sure to brake clean those other vespel rollers and shaft if have apart as they like to stick and should be just barely loose and spin. Might have to rock the clutch a little but they should all not be under pressure.
Yea, I revised the video with the "on the sled roller replacement" content.

Great vid
If I remember it is a 13/16 twelve point to remove the clutch bolt
Getting ready to pick up my first ski doo always worked on my own sleds this was a great video with great information 👍
What is the trick to torquing the clutch bolt to 89 ft lbs? ...without the special tool of course. Any trick to removing the spring without the special tool? Thanks!
Thx for postin that great n helpful video. Been thinkin about havin a go at mine ('20 bc xrs w/ 2500miles) will be my first time. Do the weights require any maintenance? Disassemble & clean pivot maybe??
Also maybe it would be nice to make another video for the secondary pulley. Anyways thx again!
The weights don’t require maintenance as long as the rollers are in good shape. A broken or worn roller can damage the weight .
I do have a video on the secondary clutch roller replacement. Check the video called…
QRS roller replacement (revised)
Awesome 👌 and very informative. Thank you for sharing!
What do you use for cleaning it once apart? Just soap and water? Rim cleaner?
You want use something that will leave no residue or oils. Some people blow it out real good with compressed air. Brake cleaner is pretty good because it doesn’t leave any residue (you want very clean, dry brakes) and dries fast. You have to use a lot so it runs off and takes all the belt dust/debris/dirt with it.
What clutch tool kit did you use in the video? C&T power sports seemed to have a different one. Can you add a link for the tools used?
Pretty sure I got it from western Powersports. SPI tool, can get on amazon or eBay

What primary clutch tools do you use? Are they all relatively the same?
There’s a lot of shops selling tools for the P-drive clutch. C&T is probably one of the more popular ones.

Is there any information on the back torque rollers?
Don’t see near as many problems with the back torque rollers, at least on the mountain sleds. Probably because we don’t put on very many miles per year as flat land sleds.
Hey, do you know the part number for the P Drive clutch roller kit?
Theres a number of different, very good rollers out there that Ive used.

Funny, i still remember 2 head Skidoo engineers in 2017 saying that the Pdrive will be maintenance free
What happens when those rollers ceases up?
When the bearings in the roller run dry and seize up, creates a lot of heat, wears out the ramp (weight) and sled shifts very poorly.
Do not torque the axle shaft bolts to 44 # The bolts will break.
Hopefully, last longer trail riding cuz we do 1000 miles in two weekends I realize your type of riding is harder on things.
BTW, I have had some questionable reliability on SPI products. I went back to stock
Yea, I kinda wonder about spi products as well. That’s why I thought I’d try them and see.

I used to own a 1997 FIII 600 and did all my own service. I found this video very interesting and comprehensive. Great job!
