This is actually an insanely useful video given rapidos bodies are typically really difficult to remove due to the clips, thank you

Great video and explanation! Thank you for sharing. One question, how easy is to remove the cab to add crew inside?

Hi, I live in Quebec - Canada. I've seen some of those M420 engines in my life. It's interesting that they make the model in HO. Looking up on youtube, I see a lot of engines that are much easier to open. So I come to the conclusion that even if Rapido makes great looking models, they didn't convince me yet. I'm in fact a Canadian citizen. I respect Rapido Trains for their work. It's the only Canadian manufacturer we got. But the reliability and sometimes the quality of their stuff is simply deficient. How come you must break something on a very expensive model when you got to open it for maintenance or fixing ? I'll stick to Atlas !

Thanks for your comment. Yes Rapido is a bit a love hate relatioship. Awesome models to see but very delicate to handle. Had six models from Rapido and all had minor flaws. Sorry the M 420 were the worst with squeeky axles and jamming trucks.

@@1500chessie Hi again. So I'm asking you this : Why ? Why should I pay nearly $400 CAN currency on some engine that has issues before opening the box ? All the Canadian models I was dreaming of when I was younger (20 years ago) were made or next to be done by Rapido. The only engine I had no issues was the first release of four axles GMD-1. Next I bought another one of the first serie of sargent stripes 6 axles GMD-1. Frame was bended and tank fuel was too close to rail top. Sold it right away. Rapido offered me to fix it. Too late ! No more Rapido ! Years later, I bought a SW1200rs. It was impossible to shut off inspection lights. It was also noisy without sound. Gearing ! So I finally own no Rapido engines since then. I thought of buying a M420 engine but I hear more bad than good things on it. I'm only buying DCC and sound units. If I invest like $400 on an engine, it has to be reliable first ! Rapido's out !

@@lucgagnon5241 first i have to say, nobody got forced to buy this models. If one have bad expierence with a certain manufacturer, stay away from it. Honest, it is not Rapido alone who makes crapy things. I had a lot of issues with Athearn Genesis, Atlas B36-7 CSX completly wrong painted and will not start about the Intermountain garbage. So each company makes mistakes. But i agree, im also done with Rapido.

@@1500chessie Hi again, I agree with you. We must stay away from jerky models. I'd say that I'm truly desapointed that Rapido has not reliable models. After all, they're making pretty nice looking stuff. Models that have never been available before. As I told you, every time they release an engine, there are issues with at least one thing on it. From programming to loosen parts to noisy trucks. And I agree more about Athearn, Intermountain or Broadway Limited. Hope you'll enjoy your M420. It's a VERY NICE looking engine.
