Congrats on getting accepted!! I’ve lived in Tucson all my life, and kinda always knew that I was going to the UofA, but now that I’m actually here, I know I wouldn’t have chosen any other way! Campus is beautiful and so incredibly diverse in its people and education! I used to hate Tucson so much, but when I started everything just changed. I met my best friends and gained my sisters here. This is the first video I’ve watched of yours and I’m definitely subscribing! You are giving such good advice to those who are worried about choosing between a school that YOU want and a school that OTHER people expect. Not everyone is going to like the decision you make, but in the end, you choose what’s right for you. I wish you would’ve made this video three years ago when I was applying for schools lolol. I’m also a senior, and my school counselor definitely talked about student loans with me. She’s currently helping me to find scholarships. It probably depends on the person and their own college experience. Congrats on finding your perfect school! I applied to only two and committed to University of Minnesota Twin Cities College of Biological Sciences. I found out about the other school I applied to in July literally 3 seconds after I sent in my application (I had done a pre application thing during my junior year and they had pretty much already accepted me). UMN I found out about in October and I applied in August. I thankfully didn’t have to write any essays at all for applications. I’m so excited for next year!

Congrats!! 🎉 I’m just going to warn you, however, as an Arizonan, be prepared for 125 degree weather for May to early September but winter is absolutely beautiful here!!
It's crazy watching these videos now that I am a junior in college and how much my point of view has changed on college and just how fast college flies by. By the second semester of my sophomore year I began to realize what actually matters - getting my degree! Having fun and making friends does help the transition from home to school go smoother but my motto is you can have fun for four years and work for the rest of your life or work for four years and have fun for the rest of your life. Good luck at U of A! Enjoy the tailgates, the parties, and make plenty of friends, but don't lose sight of what you're actually there for.
my class is also pretentious and super competitive about colleges... and I live in a wealthy area too. I totally understand how you feel about this, it gets really annoying. I’m also going west for college as well 😋

As soon as you said you were visiting ASU and UA and describing the campus I knew you would select UA! Congratulations! Greek life at UA is amazing (I was initiated at UA but ended up transferring to ASU) but I highly recommend recommendations. Greek life is somewhat competitive. Reach out to your teachers, your local Panhellenic to get them. Have fun at school and good luck with recruitment!
U of A is a great school! I did my grad program there and fell in love with Tucson 😊 A lot of people doesn't understand why I wanted to go there either being from Seattle lol The people I met there are amazing, the cost of living is cheap and there is so much to do all year round because of the weather!
@@SophieHelena Try the Scented Leaf when you get there. It's a great study spot across the street from campus. It's a tea place where they have about 10 different teas on tap. Your second tea refill is $1 and the third one is free. I miss that place!

I went to ASU and U of A is my son’s second choice school. We are waiting to hear from his first choice school. I visited U of A campus and really had a great feeling about it. U of A offered him a lot of merit $ and they are the best about communication and organization. My son will major in engineering and ASU is ranked higher for engineering but I totally understand why he said it is too big. Maybe you will meet my son next year! Best wishes with it, it is a great time!
i took the SAT twice and only improved 30 points (even thought i worked a ton) which was so disheartening especially since my english is really high (730) but my math isn't and it makes my overall score awful
Complete opposite for me, I’m a sweaty confused mess on the reading/writing portion, barely making it under the time limit, while I breeze over the math.

Do you like trade school? If you don’t then go to a 4 years university. Follow your dreams. With your GPA you can get scholarships and some universities offer scholarships in the acceptance letter
Ryan Mazzola EA is based pretty much only on your stats, not essays. As long as you can get your essays done by the October deadline and you think they’re solid, then I would apply EA. If you think you need to spend more time on them then I would do regular.
Totally understand what you mean about visiting the colleges and feeling like why am I here? I visted UA and NAU but I saw NAU first. so when I went I kind of had my mind made up already. Congradulations!

Ta’shae Warren I wouldn’t worry about that, college mail means absolutely nothing unless it’s an acceptance letter. It’s all spam (same with emails). If you’re interested in a certain school though, you can sign up to receive emails/mail from them through their website.
