I have no issue with his different styles of Eruption. It's a fun video that also pays tribute to a legendary guitarist. If "fans" threaten to boycott his channel over this video, then they need to lighten up. It's sad that EVH died, for sure, but he was an artist and creator. I didn't know him but I would guess he would rather people keep creating than sitting around crying over his death. Just my .02.

I doubt many will read this, but EVH's death has hit me in a way I never expected. I was never a massive Van Halen fan but as a guitarist he was my main inspiration.

I had a feeling you were going to do a tribute to Eddie Van Halen. This far surpassed my expectations as this is the most creative tribute I've seen yet! I love that the Black Metal followed the Children's Theme...perfect! I loved all the different styles and they were all completely different. R.I.P. Eddie...first song I ever heard was Eruption into You Really Got Me and I was blown away. To this day it's my favorite. Thank you Steve! (I've already watched 3 times!)

People are asking in regards to Eddie's passing, "Where does all that talent go?" At which point I cite the First Law of Thermodynamics: Energy cannot be created nor lost, only transferred. Talent is the same. All that enery and talent Eddie had? It was not lost. It was bestowed upon the millions, hell, tens of millions of young guitarist like myself. The very day you touch a guitar with a smile on your face, you become part Eddie. The talent is all still there, and it'd be rude of you to throw your share away. So everyone with a guitar, go play, laugh, and have some fun like Eddie.
And to you Eddie, thank you so much for everything you not only gave to rock, or the guitar, or the keyboard, but to fuckin' music man. In the hotel of heaven, you and Mozart share the same room. Oh, it's getting late, so I have to go. I love you Eddie, I really do. Rest easy man. . . 😔

To be able to take this solo, in particular, and make it into so many different styles is proof of how absolutely talented Stevie is. Yeah he can shred with the best of them, but his creativity is astonishing.
Needless to say I was shocked to hear of Eddie's passing. When we admire someone so much and they're such a part of our lives, it feels like we've lost a member of our own family. I know he was such an inspiration for many and he was certainly a phenomenal guitarist, so this was a very fitting tribute to him. I'm sure if he could see this he would love it! Great tribute, Steve and I hope you were okay and not too down or sad while making this. 🖤🙂

Eddie said something about being a guitar God that stuck with me. He couldn’t relate to it and he felt like if he embraced that role he would loose his sharpness. He also said that they aimed to please themselves, put out music and if it touched one person, mission accomplished.

One of the most beautiful tributes i've ever seen. No adds just tribute. that was so very Eddie but also so very Stevie T. A perfect cover definitely the Artist but completely in the style of the person covering it!! no talking, no elaboration, subtle, if you don't get it - it wasn't for you, but if you did, then you didn't need the elaboration. It was so beautifully done it really moved me. I needed that for my own grieving process. Legit thanks!
When I first started CZcams in the early days I actually found Eddie Van Halen's personal CZcams channel through his website. One of the videos he liked was a couple of teenagers using webcam effects to pull stupid faces and making each other laugh, from what I remember. I don't remember the video title but there were comments like "Dude, Eddie Van Halen liked your video" and "Did you see Eddie liked your vid!?" (Liked or favourited whatever it was back then).
My point is I'm sure he would have appreciated a goofy tribute.

Somebody wanna add in the original Van Halen style at 2:32? A little mish-mash never killed anybody. I would make it a 3-way mishmash of if it were for all those deathcore guys as well. Make this 22 styles. Or 21.
Personally, I never got deep into EVH songs or a big fan of him myself, but without him, my guitar heroes wouldn't have someone to inspire them tapping in epic solos. I would never learn tapping if my guitar heroes didn't learn tapping themselves from the legendary tapper himself.

Eddie passing away was just the icing on the cruddy cake for my awful week. On top of that, I'm dealing with the fact my dad has a nodule on his vocal cords that's soon gonna require a CT scan to determine what it is exactly, as well as I was brutally betrayed by my former employer and someone who claimed to be my 'sister from another mister' who got me the position to start with. This is one truly amazing, gorgeous, and unique tribute to a legend who will never be forgotten. Rest easy, Eddie.🤘😔🤘 Also, we might as well throw 2020 away with the rest of the garbage! So over it lol 😥

this not only shows how good stevie is, but how amazing Eddie's playing was. It's amazing how well it can be translated to other genres of music because of how innovative and progressive his music was.
I actually cried a little when I found out. The irony is that I was at a record store buying Van Halen albums on cassette for my dads new truck he got that had a cassette deck. When I got to the counter the guy running the store told me. It felt like someone in my family died. My dad listened to edd in high school, and I listened to him my whole life because of my dad. Eddie inspired me to play, and he still does. RIP Eddie Van Halen, gone but not forgotten.

Abso-FREAKING-lutely awesome tribute to guitar legend, Eddie Van Halen as only Stevie T can do it. I'm a keyboardist myself, so I've been rocking the "Jump" synth solo a few times these past few days in remembrance of the man. I'd like to propose a virual toast to Eddie Van Halen, Husband, Father, Artist, Guitarist and Legend, Ediie Van Halen was a inspiration to many guitarists and artists alike, for those whom knew him personally, he was like family, and to us fans, he is also family, nothing hurt's us more than to loose someone close, whether it is friends, family or inspirations, but Eddie Van Halen live on in his music, his playing, and through the countless generations of guitarists whom have aspired to follow in his techniques.
I personally looked at Eddie Van Halen as among the greatest guitarists, and one of the many inspirations for me, though I lack the willpower to endure the many years of Guitar Practice needed to become a great guitarist, I nonetheless will always remember Ediie Van Halen.

His 8-bit rendition, lol. This video is a great display of one of Stevie's talents that often goes unmentioned since the focus is mainly on guitar. I mean, think about his originals where he wrote all the parts, the parodies, the reimaginings (such as this video) where he's going through a ton of styles... The guy's a fantastic producer, too. I'd bet the fact that the drums are all programmed doesn't even cross most people's minds when they watch his videos.
The fact that Steve put so much effort and time into his videos giving them a small amount of seriousness and goofiness combined with rings of saturn amout of skill making the best videos on CZcams is amazing.
