For me there's never too many bootable solutions... I use them all, although my favourite for malware removal is Kaspersky which I run on a stick on its own, can't get it to boot via ventoy, something to do with a switch, perhaps that's one to solve as a short for others like myself... Overall another awesome walkthrough, I really think it's switched on to show what can go wrong and the workaround to fix said issue as in this vid, that is learning as you go... Cheers for your time...
Thanks Brian havent seen this one before..i always have to investigate any new repair tool..id give Sergi Strelec the crown for being the best cleanest no bloat set of all kind of tools..Hasent been updated in a while which is strange as was always updated regularly..
Nice video very very very useful
Brian, I finally got around to making my WinPE. I ran into the issue of my anti-malware flagging several of the files of the program. I think that if anyone wants to use this program they should create a VM and build it there. That way there will not be any issues from any anti-* software. I know you mentioned in the video that you used a VM to do this but I think that something of this level should ONLY be done in a VM. Then transferred to a USB drive.
Presumably cloning to a drive that is the same size is also acceptable, providing of course the original drive is not full?
Hey Brian, first of all, I love the channel, your videos are awesome and very helpful. Second, is this better than using something like Hiren’s boot cd PE? I’ve also heard of medicat but never used it, is that any good? Sorry if I missed something, I didn’t really get to watch much of the video because of how late it is. I’ll rewatch tomorrow ;D… Well this looks pretty cool, I’ll have to try setting up a custom usb! Thanks :D
medicat is good, but a bit bloated, lots of programs that all do the same thing.
@@Britec09 thanks! I'll look at a few options and see what I like the best.
I’ve tried medicat and building a phoenix pe, I’ve found both unnecessarily cumbersome compared to Hirens. Phoenix kept on giving me errors, Most of them downloading related. I wish there was a way to choose and manually download these utilities. Also, Brian, you have to use Rufus to create the boot usb with the .iso that’s created, or else it won’t boot. 32 gb USBs or bigger need Alt+L to force Large file structure.
Some of those software get updates. Can u update the software on the iso ?
Great tutorial as usual. But I thought you might choose win 10, instead of win 11, to avoid booting problems. A virtual machine doesn’t make any distinction. But a bare metal would.
I customized a build further. Placed on an Easy2boot thumb drive. After booting from the thumb drive, I found that MOST of the program icons that I added, when pressed, "could not find target file". When I went thru Ventoy, THEN MOST of the programs DID work, but SOME still did not. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and if so, found a solution. Thanks.
What about if it says "USB Device not recognized" I frequently get this when I plug in USB devices, even new ones.
Make sure the usb drivers are updated in the Device Manager.
Or go to windows updates>check for updates.
Hello. Maybe you could need a driver update. You could check if Windows Update has available updates: go to settings > Update and security > Search for updates. Hope it can help. Greetings
@@JuanLopez-vf3mo It seems to be intermittent though. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Surely this couldn't be a driver issue? If it was they would never work at all.
@@CoolDudeClem hello. You're right. It could be something related to the power settings of the USB ports. There is an option in the device manager for saving energy on devices. I'm not with my computer right now, but i'll check it as soon as posible so i can give you a recommendation for those settings.
What about Hiren's kit?
Hirens kit is all you need, this one is just extra confusions to add more duplication bs
Howdy mate, so i followed all the instructions i have an iso built no errors, but when i try to use the ISO on virtual machine like any other ISO i get an error saying windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause to fix problem insert Windows install disc and restart pc the info section says this 64-bit application couldnt load because your pc doesnt have a 64 bit processor but i do im confused im stressed can you help? Lol
HBCD is already there with a lot more
What if you get the error for Firefox but you really want to use Firefox?
I prefer Hiren Boot CD than this tool but each to their own.
I just use ventoy and have multiple isos on the drive including hiren
The biggest problem with fixing ANY version of Windows is Microsoft! This version of Win PE seems far too convoluted! Hirens is far better.
❤
NOTE: WinRAR will UN-compress ANY file.
Hirens boot cd is better
Setup a ventoy USB stick and if it's big enough, you can stick any number of ISO files on it and boot to whatever you need.
@@Britec09 Confused. You say add whatever apps you want, but aren't your choices restricted to the apps the developers have included in the build "menu". For instance you are restricted to Aomei backup and don't have an option of using Hasleo instead/in addition?
bruh it does not want to build
Why do people make videos of their desktop screen when the viewer cannot read what is on it?
Windows Defender says it's a Dangerous Download ....
These types of files always get flagged because of the nature of them. Been using them for years.
The password unlocker? Does this or can this thumb drive be used at boot-up if in the BIOS under security, there is a Hardware Manager, Supervisor password and a Poer On password that can be enabled. If so, it is mostly a problem if there is a Supervisor password that can be enabled, which is difficult to get around, unless you go into the mother and locate the eeprom chip and short the jumpers immediately after the boot up screen lights up
My English is not good enough so I use a translation
I downloaded the software as explained in the video
The Norton antivirus neutralized and blocked the download of PhoenixPE, registered:
Trojan.Gen.9
X:\PhoenixPE\PhoenixPE-2024-06-20-x64\Projects\PhoenixPE\Tools\x64\jj.exe
No wonder in the video you ask to block the antivirus.
Anyone who wants to distribute a video about a certain file would do well to ensure that the file is free of viruses and spyware.
I deleted the download immediately and did not use it.
chrome blocks PhoenixPE download on lots of websites saying the file is infected. Where is the safe download link please @Britec09?
Great for doing a DIY WinPE I doing a larger version Medicat which I got after seeing one of your videos and will look at replacing the Hirens boot or adding this to as well yet again fantastic info Bri thanks mate.
