The god of this World and prince of this world does protect Israel and blesses those that bless it. Jesus will destroy it gather Israel as Isaiah 11 shows. When I read this prophecy some years ago, I was blown away. Damascus has never before become uninhabited so it is something yet to happen.
Could it be part of 'the hook' used to draw in a very big player for the Ezekiel War.
