- I designed this primitive trap trigger system because I was tired of fiddling with, smashing my hands with, and overall just getting frustrated with other trigger systems. This is universal. You can use it for deadfall, windlass, spring snare, and any other type of traps you can think of. Super quick and easy to create with only a knife, and and some cord. This is the only trigger I use anymore!!! Please like, comment, subscribe and share if you like this video.
Great trigger!
Man I just tried this out for a spring snare, it's the best! Quick reset and no toggle flying around near the sling of the snare... What a brilliant trigger
Hey… Thanks so much. I'm still trying to perfect it for various applications, but I'm glad it works for you!
Thanks for showing us that. That's a very cool trigger system. I would have like to see the how the system is connected to the dead weight a little better.
Thank you for sharing this awesome system. I’ll try it out soon!
I'd love step by step instructions for this trap
You don't show how the deadfall is supported, nor triggered. Bad boy!
Look at the set up when he’s speaking. the green line is holding up the weight, the black line is a triangle shape held just above it by pegs. Blind boy!
Be handy for the coming collapse, thank you.
I've seen this before this video in an old Vietnam trap trigger publication. I think it was Paladins Press (go figure) and it was a spring stick with impaling spikes attached. This was DEFINITELY THAT TRIGGER. Now that I think of it....if you watch the first Arnold "Predator" film, you will see this done with a bone. This is old tech. It was hard to find, though, while hiding in plain view.
This is really good. Amazingly simple and easy.
Great trigger
I like it.
love to see a new bush craft channel and what an amazing idea im defiantly stealing it
@@WaypointOutdoorAdventures i don't but i love bush craft and have been doing it all my life if i ever did start a channel that would be it. Cant wait to see more of you content
Great idea, thanks
great design mate , nice one
that is ingenious.
We don't kno how you set up the fall with the bait stick
You should do a video to show how this is a GREAT trigger for a spring sapping wire snare too!
Nice vid!
Good ol’ L7
Bro this is awesome. Also I love manistee national forest. I’ve had countless adventures up there.
@@WaypointOutdoorAdventures I will be watching all of them.
Awesome
Not sure which one I like better! This trigger, or the fishing pole! I will be trying this one out first though! I WON'T BE MISSING ANY OF YOUR VIDEOS, AND THE THUMBS UP WILL BE WELL DESERVED (I PROMISE)! I LIKED HEARING THAT FROM YOU! I'M HAPPY TO FIND YA, BUT WISH I'D FOUND YA SOONER!
Thanks so much! I love the quick release peg… It’s super versatile!
@@WaypointOutdoorAdventures,on Fowler's channel, "live"! Mentioned you a few times, no response! I'll try on greg's channel, but don't expect any difference! Hmm, same people though!
Glad I cought your ad, I'm a Trucker living in Detroit area... GET ME OUTTA HERE!
Justin - Are you familiar with gatherings like Rabbit Stick in Idaho ? Winter Count in Ariz? Use to have TRIBES in N. C. ---- lots of info with Inst from around the World . Max learning, sharing , knowledge and Comradeship !
Ive seen this trigger on a tunnel rat trap using bamboo. Yours is clever though.
Steet trigger man I like how you can set the sensitivity!
Got me over here taking notes📘📗✏
I’ve shown that off to quite a few bushcrafter’s… Everyone is always amazed at how simple yet practical it is. It is so versatile. I’ve used it on countless variations of traps and snares. I guess I have too much time on my hands, and spent too much time in the woods… LOL
@@WaypointOutdoorAdventures no such thing as too much time in the woods! I will be trying this set out forsure even tho we can't leave them up out here in Fla. Its still fun to learn tho.
thought about getting those figure 4 trap triggers from dave canterburys site
Very nice setup, but what I still didn’t understand is that part of the trigger on the ground underneath the log or stone?
The trigger is elegant. I really like it. Did you give it a name?
Watched a vid earlier today about the "Snake Trigger" . Same thing only different! Vid was put out by SurviveSmart. Like yours better cuz it doesn't require as much stuff. Although would be difficult to set up said deadfall without something above it to tie to!
I saw snakes trigger years ago and have made some for my kit. I immediately thought of it. Survive smart.
how is it rigged to the deadfall weight?????
Just a heads up, it’s not new and you don’t need the notches. Any stick or a piece of wire will do. I do like your vid. Keep them coming. Dave Canterbury also has a version of the same trigger and works under the same principle. He just adds one extra loop. Notice his has no notches?
Buenos notches.
A link to the video you referred to would be nice.
I agree .. if you could show us that Video fellow commenter we would appreciate it.
I also would love a better step by step how to set the deadfall
I would love to see how it is attached to and moved by the bait stick.
Yeah… I need to do a full how to video on this I’ve done a more in-depth demonstration of this. I wasn’t intending to make it a standalone video, but someone had asked me for it. If you look At the following playlist, you’ll see a used in other configurations
czcams.com/play/PLK1JUq2ofa33MU36a_0htjoSPeiAsieq7.html
@@WaypointOutdoorAdventures yeah this would be amazing, please do a more detailed follow up video.
you did not show how the bait stick sets up to trigger it?
Excellent trigger but sadly your not the first, have also known as the snake trigger, i also had an invention and found 3 years after that another had done so similar 2 years before me, well done anyway
keep trying
Charley had all kinds of trigger set inthe jungle
👍👍👍👍❤😀
I only have one problem you have to have cordage maybe I don’t want to bring string into the woods that’s my only problem with it I think
Snakes trap trigger is identical in function. Carved differently but essentially the same. CZcams channel “ survive smart “
I looked for it but I couldn’t find it.
you didn't show how the opposite end is attached. good video
My glass eye went too sleep
Just type “ snakes trap trigger “ in the search box.
You didn't show how to set it up??
Thanks for watching… My intention was not to necessarily show how to set it up. I came up with it just before boot camp for the alone show on history channel. I had shown all the other contestants how to do it… they all really liked it, so I wanted to get it up on my own channel in case they showed using it on the show… Lol I wanted proof I came up with it first :-) I do have a few other videos detailing it in different configurations.
Nice trigger, but i really doubt, a little mouse can trigger it. Just too much friction there... I think for other bigger game, will be just sensational!!!
You can make these VERY sensitive by choosing the resting place of the ring and polishing/tapering the holdpiece for reduced friction. If it hasn't dawned on a reader yet, trap triggers are a balancing act.
You didn’t show how to create and set it up. The most important thing.
You should name it after yourself.
Explanation starts at 2:30
2:10 "without further ado" and then further 20 seconds of ado until 2:35 when "without further ado" again ...
Doesn't look simpler or quicker to set up to me.
Dtill didnt really dhow us how to do this..lots of missing info/ steps.
You didn't invent that "trigger mechanism" --Ive seen it used before by David Canterbury
Dave asked me if he could use it ;-) thanks for watching :-)
Do you realize you spent half the video talking about how great that trigger is? Just show us how!
I don't get it. Not a good demo of actual setup
you just keep saying how great it is BUT you don't SHOW how the whole thing is set up.
Clump of snow falls from above, triggered.
Squirrel or literally any critter bumps line outside kill zone, triggered.
Fucking wind blows twig into line, triggered.
The trigger line is way too long and exposed.
This thing will be going off all the time, empty.
Sorry, very poor video, you are supposed to be teaching instead all you are doing is showing. A trap from a distance being tripped, absolutely no show of bait stick and how it triggers please redo with close ups
Thanks for the input… I do have several other videos using the same trigger mechanism that go into much more detail.
Interesting setup but poor video in that it does not show much detail. So basically, it's useless to me.
So bad at explanations whatta pepega
This video was terrible. Didn't show the trap well at all. Did not explain the mechanics well. Have no clue how it works.
Thanks for the feedback :-)
