    That's the problems with the 'Walter Lantz' Oswalds, too much emphasis on random gags, and not Oswald himself.

    After watching this more than 50 times I have noticed just now that the first scene with Oswald in the car is synchronized to the music.

    Another good Oswald. Whoever was responsible for the voices seemed to reject any kind of naturalism and go for the same kind of cartoony exaggeration as in the facial expression and rubbery body moves.

    Fascinating, suprisingly surreal for the 1930s... Thanks for posting...!

    Do you notice Oswald has only one line in the film?

    Gotta feel sorry for that baby.

    @Greatsaiyakirby I don't know. This is just one short. Oswald does get a lot of screen time in the other Lantz shorts.

    I wonder why a number of these Oswald shorts have timers at the bottom of the screen?

      these were used as testing films inside the company in the late 80s. most likely to review them and study them. its odd

      Indeed, this is a VHS copy of the film, I'm guessing they spliced a load together and ran them through a scanner all in one go, hence why some other ones have the same number box just at different times.

    3:08 is that homer and ortensia towards the bottom right?

    • @luizfernandocanaloficial9511
      @luizfernandocanaloficial9511 Před rokem +2

      Homer is Ortensia's younger brother, and Homer would only appear in a Lantz short in 1931.

      This is the last Oswald cartoon to feature the laughing Oswald in the title cards and the next on Bowery Bimbos has no Laugh in the next cartoon after this one and the next cartoon after this one is called Bowery bimbos like I said before and the cartoon Bowery Bimbos is lost you know the one after this one is actually which is Bowery bimbos like I said a million dang idiotic times and is lost, however it's soundtrack still exists and I heard the soundtrack of Bowery Bimbos on the Walter Lantz Company Encyclopedia and the first existing one without the laugh is The hash shop the one after Bowery Bimbos.

    • @azuraring
      @azuraring Před 8 lety

    WAIT A MINUTE! If all of the Oswald shorts are in the public domain, HOW DID DISNEY "BUY"/"TRADE" Al Michaels, or whoever, for him?! :/

    • @No-hd4cg
