Fishing for JUMBO Lake Erie Perch (Spring 2024 on Long Point Bay)

- We found Lake Erie Jumbo perch while fishing Long Point Bay! It was spring fishing at it's finest. Grandpa and I went out a couple of weekends ago and redeemed ourselves after previously being unsuccessful in catching BIG perch in the Long Point Bay channels. We caught lots, and fried up lots! #fishshimano #girlswhofish #perchfishing

awesome video Averie! I've never done freshwater live baiting before (rules in NZ r strict when it comes to freshwater fishing!) but done a lot of saltwater livebaiting and omg its very exciting and fun

The Canada/USA Great Lakes look like Oceans!
Rules for hunting and fishing in Canada are different for each Province, as they should be, since we have such a vast territory.
Also, saltwater fishing is a whole other kettle of fish (no pun intended).

Question for you Averie, What active forward/downward sonar do you use? And what brand? Thought I saw one of your videos with active sonar that allowed you to track your lure and the fish below you in real time. Thinking about getting the entire setup.

Another great video Averie, one question do you have a bag limit and size you can keep each day .
there’s no size restrictions, just a bag limit of 50 perch. and you can only have 50 perch per person able to fish stored in your household at a time.
A great video. Just remember you are only allowed to possess 120 minnows per person. 😊
wow i actually didn’t know that. there definitely wasn’t over that much but we did have lots. maybe 120 all together.

So Sad there No Close Season on Perch at Spring Time.Hope the Females we’re turn Loose. With So Many Walleyes that Lake Erie Has the Perch will never be the catch Like in the 60s and 70s .
Here in Michigan we are only aloud 25 each

That's what I thought because last year I realized it was 50 in the lake but 25 from shore!
I just reread the "note" on that so thank you cause I'm literally right on the state line in the Maumee bay so fishing in Michigan is a regular thing!
Meanwhile I'm throwing back perch bigger than any bass I've caught because I'm fishing for bullheads
big perch taste good! i don’t often perch fish but when i do i usually keep a few.
Just awful watching this they will never eat all those fish, even took the females with eggs, sad. what ever happen catch and release so other people can enjoy
