I tried this and it turned out really well. I used two shades of dark and darker blue. Almost indigo.

The Technique is called Decalcomania, it was developed by the surrealist.

I have to ask: Why record a video about a detailed painting technique and record it with a potato? I would have loved to see what's really happening but the image is so compressed and pixelated that it's very difficult. Between the great narration and the great lighting, it's obvious the poster knows how to make videos. I guess the camera is the only bummer in the equation. Thumbs up for a solid attempt.

It’s about the texture. Plus dyed leather exists

The olive dyed leather effect is subtle and effective and a lot easier than hunting for green cattle.
