I m born as hindu in india n My parents migrated from pakistan in 1947. I love all the good deshbakht of any cast religion n creed. People of pok n other parts have very well understood hindus and sanatani behaviour. To me looks a sustained and fast development is on anvil for pok if annexed to India. This is a real beginning of akhand bharat. How sindhis have started a new sikh gurudwara in Hyderabad sindh recently. This is a true sanatan. Everyone is respected. Jai bharat jai shri ram.

My understanding is: Till such time that POJK people do not start armed struggle and large scale attempt to cross the border takes place, forcing India to set up refugee camps, India won't do anything! Reason: Within India the majority Hindus mood is to just progress the country - to become a "developed" status Nation by 2047! Also, Hindus are very wary of majority radicalised muslims residing in POJK! Whatever gain is made in terms of de-radicalisation in the Kashmir will be lost, if these jihadi mindset mass starts mixing in!!???
Added to this, Ladakh Buddists are wary of whole of POJK coming under India! They are OK if only Gilgit & Ladakh region comes in, because couple of million population (some 15lakh) and they are NOT that radicalised as mirpur region muslims!!??
In all this: Kashmiris can't aspire a fully independent Nation either!! Reason: China has massive mobilisation and the day India takes off its eyes from the region, China will first integrate Ladakh into its control by merging with the territory that they occupied in 1962war!! And already Chinese have purchased huge swathes of land from Pak govt along CPEC road side in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir Region!! Estimation is about 50000+ PLA live within POJK areas in civilian/technician uniforms!!
SO, IT IS PRETTY COMPLEX FOR INDIA TO MOVE IN! REGARDLESS, IF PM MODI WANTS IT, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!! MODI JI HAI TO MUNKIN HAI!! India has lost interest in force taking pok. Too much time has passed. If they want to rejoin india, then they can make a formal request. A formal request from the government of pok, because legally they have the right to invoke the protection of india being legally indian.
If that is not the case, then this will be an internal issue of Pakistan. It's really up to the people of pok. India does not operate on crazed sentimentality.
If pok leaders and people make a grown-up calm choice and make a formal request through UN(so that india can handle international drama when it moves to change loc. We need to work as one to make this the least painful.
My opinion is pok people are not there yet to think they would be part of indian. Kashmiri indian. Just like the others in India, like Punjabi indian, gujarathu indian. This won't work if the sentiment is too strong on they feel they are kashmir and not indian.
Pok people need to understand that india is a collective. Many distinct identities joined hands to generate the strength to protect every identity. The Goal is not to look and culturaly as one, but to protect to be different. We are proud of our differences and the collective we formed to protect each other under the agreed unified law.
If pok understands this foundation of india and then chooses to join back, india will move. This cannot be a in the moment choice of let us be free or let us join india. Because it would create problems later when india introduces secular laws removing religion from governance.
You are absolutely correct sir, people of pojk like as amjad Ayub Mirza say yet that Jammu kashmir also would protest and should be free from India. How India help them .
